  • Patent number: 7127283
Abstract: A control apparatus includes an arithmetic unit for generating a brain wave pattern based on a brain wave signal obtained from a driver's head, for comparing the generated brain wave pattern with a plurality of brain wave patterns pre-stored in a control processing unit, when there is a match between the generated brain wave pattern and one of the plurality of brain wave patterns pre-stored in the control processing unit, for identifying an operation description associated with the one of the plurality of brain wave patterns, and for reading corresponding control data so as to generate and deliver a corresponding control signal that causes a vehicle-mounted apparatus to carry out an operation specified by the associated operation description to the vehicle-mounted apparatus based on the control data.

  • Publication number: 20050125123
Abstract: A camera is built in a DVD mechanical portion or a display portion of a rear entertainment system, and the camera takes a passenger sat in a rear seat or his or her situations, or a backward scene of the vehicle seen from the rear seat as a moving image or a still image. The picked up video signals are subjected to image processing by an image processor, and are displayed thereon. Moreover, when recording the image taken by the camera, the image is recorded in a recording part as a moving image or a still image according to an input operation via a key input portion. Further, the image taken by the camera is also sent to a front seat navigation-monitor portion, and displayed thereon.

  • Publication number: 20040098193
Abstract: A navigation apparatus determines whether a correction-type-vs.-brain-wave-pattern storing unit stores a correction pattern substantially matching a brain wave pattern produced from a detected brain wave signal by comparing the brain wave pattern with a plurality of types of correction patterns pre-stored in the storing unit, and then determines whether or not an issue of a corresponding correction instruction is appropriate based on the detected current position of a moving object and the one displayed on a display unit when determining that a correction pattern substantially matching the recognized pattern exists in the storing unit. The navigation apparatus then makes a correction to a screen display showing the current position of the moving object according to the correction instruction when determining that an issue of the correction instruction is appropriate.

  • Patent number: 4903212
Abstract: In a global positioning system (GPS)/self-contained combination type navigation system for a vehicle, the GPS navigation data are received by the GPS antenna of the navigation system which are simultaneously transmitted from more than 3 pieces of satellites inclusively. From the GPS navigation data, GPS type velocity data is calculated, whereas self-contained type velocity data is calculated from self-contained type navigation data such as azimuth data and drive-distance data of the vehicle. Only when a difference between the self-contained type velocity data and the GPS type velocity data exceeds a threshold velocity, the GPS type velocity data is voided so as to determine the present position of the vehicle.
