  • Patent number: 4816290
Abstract: A process of forming a solid granular film is disclosed, which comprises dispersing solid granules into a liquid with the aid of a dispersant, removing the dispersant from the resulting dispersion to suspend the solid granules at the vapor-liquid interface, and transferring the solid granules onto a support, whereby high covering power is attained with respect to solid granules.

  • Patent number: 4801520
Abstract: A direct positive color light-sensitive material comprising a support having provided thereon at least one photographic emulsion layer containing unfogged internal latent image type silver halide particles and a color image forming coupler, wherein said color image forming coupler itself is substantially nondiffusible and produces or releases a dye upon oxidation coupling with a color developing agent, and said light-sensitive material contains at least one development inhibitor-releasing type coupler selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by formulae (D-I) and (D-II)Coup--Z (D-I)Coup--TIME--Z (D-II)wherein Coup represents a coupler residual group; Z represents a diffusible development inhibitor or a precursor thereof; and TIME represents a timing group.

  • Patent number: 4789627
Abstract: In a method for forming a direct positive color image which comprises image-wise exposing to light a light-sensitive material comprising a support having provided thereon at least one photographic emulsion layer contaiing unfogged internal latent image type silver halide grains and a color image-forming coupler; developing the light-sensitive material with a surface developing solution containing an aromatic primary amine type color developing agent in the presence of a nucleating agent and/or fogging exposure; bleaching and fixing the resulting material to form the direct positive color image, the improvement is characterized in that the developing solution has a pH of 11.5 or less and does not substantially contain benzyl alcohol; the color coupler is a compound which forms or releases a substantially non-diffusive dye by oxidation coupling with a developing agent, and the internal latent image type silver halide grains have a particular core/shell structure.

  • Patent number: 4469784
Abstract: A silver halide emulsion is disclosed which contains silver halide grains formed in the presence of a silver halide solvent. The solvent is a benzimidazole derivative having a hydrogen atom connected to the nitrogen atom at the 1st position thereof. By using this particular solvent a regular silver halide photographic emulsion having high sensitivity causing less fog is obtained. The silver halide solvent is unexpectedly advantageous in that can be almost completely desorbed from the silver halide grains by washing.

  • Patent number: 4397943
Abstract: A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material containing in at least one of its constituent layers a polymerized stabilizer which comprises repeating units having an 1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine moiety. The stabilizer does not inhibit the sensitivity of the material and greatly enhances its storability.
