  • Patent number: 8440317
Abstract: A protective film for a polarizing membrane is provided which is prevented in light leakage generation, and excellent in moldability. The protective film contains a polyamide resin, and is subjected to an orientation (e.g., a drawing) to have a retardation value of not less than 300 nm. The polyamide resin may also contain an alicyclic polyamide resin, e.g., a resin whose monomers are an alicyclic diamine and an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid. The polyamide resin may have microcrystallinity. The Abbe number of the polyamide resin may be not less than 40.

  • Publication number: 20070298227
Abstract: The present invention provides a plated resin molded article that has a beautiful and strong plating layer. More particularly, it provides a plated resin molded article containing a resin molded article, the surface of which has not been subjected to a roughening treatment by chromic acid etching, and a metal plating layer formed on the surface of the resin molded article, the resin composition containing (A) 10 to 90 mass % matrix resin that has a water absorption (ISO62) after 24 hours in 23° C. water of at least 0.6%, (B) 10 to 90 mass % styrenic resin that has a water absorption (ISO62) after 24 hours in 23° C. water of less than 0.6%, (C) 0 to 40 mass % compatibilizer and (D) 1 to 20 parts by mass, to 100 parts by mass of the total of components (A) to (C), of a water-soluble substance that has a solubility (25° C.) in water of 0.01 g/100 g to 10 g/100 g; wherein the plated resin molded article does not exhibit a change in appearance upon visual inspect-ion after the prescribed heat cycle tests.

  • Publication number: 20060204744
Abstract: An anisotropic scattering sheet comprising at least an anisotropic light scattering layer, wherein the anisotropic light scattering layer comprises a continuous phase and a dispersed phase which are different in refraction index from each other, the mean aspect ratio of the dispersed phase is more than 1, and the major axis directions of each dispersed phase are oriented to a given direction, and wherein the sheet is a heat-treated sheet. In the treatment, the heat-treating temperature may be not less than 70° C., and in the typical treatment, heat-treatment is conducted after the sheet is oriented by a monoaxial stretching through roll calendaring. The present invention ensures to provide an anisotropic scattering sheet stably usable for a long period of time without causing luminance unevenness.
