  • Patent number: 5840792
Abstract: There is incorporated as a stabilizer into a halogen-containing resin a complex hydroxide salt represented by the formula?Al.sub.2 (Li.sub.(1-x).M.sub.x)(OH).sub.6 !.sub.n (A.sup.-n).sub.1+x.mH.sub.2 Owherein A is an inorganic or organic anion, M is Mg and/or Zn, n is a valence number of anion A, m is 0 or positive number, and x satisfies the expression of 0.01.ltoreq.x<1.This complex hydroxide salt causes almost no occurrence of initial coloration when incorporated in halogen-containing resins because a part of lithium ion to enter a vacant site of aluminum hydroxide octahedron layer of the gibbsite structure in the lithium aluminum complex hydroxide salt is substituted for the metal ions of Mg and/or Zn. By substitution of a part of lithium ion for the divalent metal ions, the amount of charge-supplying anion is increased and the thermally stabilizing ability is superior to that of the lithium aluminum complex hydroxide salts.

  • Patent number: 5648057
Abstract: A process for producing a compound of the formula LiM.sup.3+ O.sub.2 (wherein M.sup.3+ Ni.sup.3+ is or/and Co.sup.3+) or LiMn.sub.2 O.sub.4 is provided which comprises the steps of reacting a basic metal salt represented by the formula M.sup.2+ (OH).sub.2-nx (A.sup.n-).sub.x .multidot.mH.sub.2 O (wherein M.sup.2+ is at least one member selected from among Ni.sup.2+, Co.sup.2+ and Mn.sup.2+, A.sup.n- is an n-valent anion (provided that n is 1 to 3), such as NO.sub.3.sup.-, Cl.sup.-, Br.sup.-, CH.sub.3 COO.sup.- and CO.sub.3.sup.2- and x and m are positive numbers respectively satisfying 0.03.ltoreq.x.ltoreq.0.3 and 0.ltoreq.m.ltoreq.2) with an alkaline water-soluble lithium compound in a molar ratio of Li/M.sup.2+ of 0.3 to 1.3 in an aqueous medium to obtain a slurry, drying the obtained slurry, and firing the resultant residue at about 500.degree. C. or higher in an oxidative atmosphere. This process ensures production of the LiM.sup.3+ O.sub.2 and LiMn.sub.2 O.sub.

  • Patent number: 5486365
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to prepare a calcium hydrogen phosphate that has excellent binding properties, a large oil adsorption capacity and a specific surface area, and is therefore suitable as an excipient.A scale-like calcium hydrogen phosphate is prepared by reacting phosphoric acid with an alkaline calcium compound such as quick lime, in the presence of a multivalent organic acid with coordinating ability, such as citric acid, to obtain a columnar calcium hydrogen phosphate, and then hydrothermally treating the obtained columnar calcium hydrogen phosphate at a temperature of 60.degree. C. or higher.

  • Patent number: 5355150
Abstract: The sub-screen data storage control unit of the present invention is provided with writing address generation circuit means to generate writing addresses for the row direction and the column direction of the storage unit and reading address generation circuit to generate reading addresses for the row direction and the column direction of said storage unit. For division of sub-screen, it further comprises a selection signal generation circuit to generate a section selection signal to specify one of the divided sections obtained from division of the storage area of the storage, and address division circuit to sort row direction writing addresses and column direction writing addresses for each of the divided sections in the storage area according to the section selection signal from the selection signal generation circuit.

  • Patent number: 4853509
Abstract: A rice cooker for preparation of shaped foods of rice in a microwave range is made of microwave permeable synthetic resin such as polypropylene and internally provided with mutually separate confined spaces of a fixed capacity and adapted for accommodating rice with water. As the rice cooker containing uncooked rice with water is heated in the microwave range, compression acts on the boiled rice due to pressure contact of the boiled rice swelled with water with walls defining the spaces and the boiled water is automatically shaped in the spaces. Absence of direct contact of the rice with user's hand during the process enables preparation of shaped foods of rice such as rice balls without any keen pain and blemish on the hands.

  • Patent number: 4279089
Abstract: This invention relates to an optical illumination device using optical fiber members. Basically, one of the respective ends of optical fiber members is opposed to a light source, with a filter disposed between the one end and the light source, the filter being movable across the path of incident light from the source to cause the other ends of the optical fiber members to illuminate with varying colors. In such basic arrangement, the optical illumination device of the invention is characterized in that the illuminating end side of a number of optical fiber members is disposed along the lateral surface of a significant-form representing member which represents a letter, figure or the like, so that the illuminating end surfaces of the optical fibers are positioned at the end edge of the significant-form member.

  • Patent number: 4019982
Abstract: An aqueous solution containing aluminum is mixed with an aqueous solution containing calcium and/or an aqueous solution containing magnesium and, if necessary, further with an aqueous solution containing iron and the pH of the resulting mixture is adjusted to cause insolubilization of the metallic elements present therein and consequently gives rise to a coprecipitation product. This coprecipitation product is dehydrated and dried and, as an adsorbent, brought into contact with waste water containing organic pollutants. The adsorbent adsorbs and removes said organic pollutants from said waste water.
