  • Patent number: 7537340
Abstract: A pulse light source section outputs a plurality of pulse light according to the exposure timing of a retina imaging device. A retina illumination system illuminates the retina of an eye under measurement with the pulse light. A wavefront compensation system illuminates the eye and measures aberrations from a light reflected from the eye. The wavefront compensation system uses a wavefront compensation device and other components to compensate to cancel out measured aberrations. A retina imaging device receives a light which was reflected from the retina and of which the aberrations have been compensated for. A retina observation system forms an image of the retina on the retina imaging device with a light which was reflected and compensated. With the plurality of pulse light output from the pulse light source section, a plurality of consecutive retina images are obtained.

  • Patent number: 7530692
Abstract: Horizontal and vertical scanning mirrors for scanning over a large angle, and horizontal and vertical compact scanning mirrors for scanning over a small angle are disposed at pupil-conjugated positions. Light is emitted from a light source to a retina, and reflected light from a broad range of the retina is accumulated by a photodetector. The accumulated light is constructed as a low-magnification retinal image by an image constructing processor. A position for picking up a high-magnification image is indicated on the basis of the constructed low-magnification retinal image. The compact scanning mirrors are rotated so that a high-magnification retinal image is achieved at the indicated pickup position. The photodetector accumulates the reflection light from the retina, and constructs the high-magnification retinal image at the pickup position indicated by the image constructing processor.

  • Patent number: 7527379
Abstract: A first wavelength for measurement is selected from among a plurality of wavelengths. Aberrations at the first wavelength are measured with a wavefront-measurement light source having the first wavelength. A compensation optical section performs compensation so as to cancel out the measured aberrations. After the compensation, a retinal image is obtained from a retina imaging device using a retina illumination light source having the same wavelength as the wavefront-measurement light source. During image-data transfer from the retina imaging device, aberrations at a second wavelength are measured using another wavefront-measurement light source having the second wavelength. The compensation optical section performs compensation so as to cancel out the measured aberrations. After the compensation, a retinal image is obtained using another retina illumination light source having the same wavelength as the another wavefront-measurement light source.

  • Patent number: 7500754
Abstract: Light from a light source is divided into S-polarization and P-polarization light. The P-polarization light is incident to a retinal illumination system for high-power image and the S-polarization light is incident to a retinal illumination system for low-power image. These lights are set center illumination and ring illumination by aperture diaphragms. Reflection light flux from a cornea under the high-power retina illumination light passes through the center of a perforated mirror, and thus light reflected from the retina and the perforated mirror is received through a high-power optical system to achieve an excellent retinal image having no flare. Likewise, reflection light flux from the cornea under the low-power retina illumination light is reflected from the perforated mirror, and thus light reflected from the retina and passing through the center of the hole is received through a low-power optical system to achieve an excellent retinal image having no flare.

  • Patent number: 7490939
Abstract: A first illuminating optical system illuminates an eye with a wide beam. A first light receiving unit receives reflection light fluxes from the eye that have been converted into at least 17 beams by a first conversion member. A first compensation optical unit, disposed in the first illuminating optical system, compensates an illuminating light flux to the eye for aberration. A second compensation optical unit, disposed in a first light receiving optical system, compensates a reflection light flux from the eye for aberration. An operation unit determines, based on an output from the first light receiving unit, a compensation amount for cancelling out aberration to deform the first and second compensation optical units and compensate for aberration. The operation unit determines the optical characteristics of the eye, based on an output from the first light receiving unit after compensation, and on compensated optical characteristics.
