    Abstract: Provided are a measuring mechanism for measuring a predetermined fixed amount or an arbitrary amount of a liquid composition and discharging it, and a quantitative dispensing container and a quantitative applicator including such a mechanism. A measuring mechanism is provided that includes a base and a head defining a measurement space between the base and itself, the base and the head configured to be capable of changing the volume of the measurement space in response to a predetermined operation of the head including a measurement operation for increasing the volume of the measurement space and a discharge operation for reducing the volume of the measurement space. The base includes a first passageway for allowing the composition to flow from the outside into the measurement space, and a first check valve located on the first passageway. The first check valve of the base increases its sealability if there is a positive pressure in the measurement space.

The piston includes a flexible piece that is deformable in a portion that comes into contact with the bottom lid. The flexible piece is deformable against the sliding of the piston toward the bottom lid.

    Abstract: A telephone answering attachment to a highfidelity music system. An adaptor switches audio signals between a telephone circuit, a double-deck recorder and an amplifier. A bell signal on the telphone circuit causes one deck to play a back a prerecorded message onto the telephone circuit and causes the other deck to then record the caller's message. A short notification message is displayed on a television screen. Otherwise, the adaptor leaves the double-deck recorder in its usual configuration.

    Abstract: A high speed information retrieval apparatus that carries out program retrieval and reproduction on the basis of program numbers used as subcodes corresponding to individual information programs recorded on the magnetic tape. Two high speed search operations are used in moving the tape from a current position to an object position. A memory is used to store code representations of program positions, and a position information calculation circuit determines tape position based on a detection of tape reel rotation. In one high speed search mode, the memory and calculation circuit output are compared to determine position. In another high speed search mode, the subcode on the tape is compared to a current tape position. When the object program number is stored in the memory, the mechanism block is set to a second high speed running mode by a control circuit. The block stays in that mode until the current tape position comes within a threshold distance of the object position.

The bar code display can change at a rapid rate to dynamically follow the input signal, while the numeric display changes at a slower rate so as to allow the user sufficient time to comprehend the numerically displayed value.
