  • Patent number: 9082473
Abstract: Corruption of data in a FRAM (2) is avoided by applying a regulated voltage (VLDO) to a conductive pin (5-1). A switch (SW1) is coupled between the conductive pin and a power terminal of the FRAM so a FRAM supply voltage (VFRAM) is equal to the regulated voltage when the switch is closed. The conductive pin is coupled to a power terminal of a digital circuit (3) so a digital circuit supply voltage (VCORE) is equal to the regulated voltage. A power interruption is detected to produce an interruption signal (nBORdet) that opens the switch and also prevents starting of new read and write operations in the FRAM. A sufficient FRAM supply voltage is maintained by an internal capacitor (CINT) while ongoing read and write operations in the FRAM are completed during a predetermined interval. The conductive pin may be coupled to the switch by bonding wire inductance (LWIRE) between the switch and the conductive pin to inhibit flow of transient currents between them.

  • Patent number: 6588881
Abstract: A print head has a reduced power size or increased print speed that can be operated at a lower voltage or higher speed and can maintain high-quality output printing free from thinned portions. During intervals between printing operations while a print paper is being fed, pulses are applied to all print electrodes to maintain a uniform potential difference between each of the print electrodes and a counter electrode so that an electric charge is supplied to the ink meniscus. Consequently, a sufficient Coulomb force to permit ink droplets to be ejected is obtained. Therefore, during printing operations, the supplied energy can be reduced and electric charge on the ink surface can be retained. Hence, ink droplets can be ejected stably without nonuniformities.

  • Patent number: 6478407
Abstract: There is provided a recording apparatus capable of outputting an image which is not provided with nonuniformity of printing, stable and provided with high quality by realizing a recording head for maintaining a shape of a meniscus of ink always in a proper state without carrying out highly accurate back pressure control. Hence, a shape of front ends of base plates forming a slit-like opening portion is constituted by a shape of a wedge directing a sharpened front portion thereof to a recorded medium. Further, an inclined face portion in the shape of the wedge is subjected to a water repellant or an oil repellant processing. Or, there is constructed a constitution of providing an ink discharge mechanism for discharging extra ink at an end face portion at outside of a printing area of the base plate constituting the slit-like opening portion.

  • Publication number: 20020044173
Abstract: A printer equipped with a print head that can be operated at a lower voltage or at a higher speed is offered. The print head permits reduction in size of the power supply or increase in the print speed. The printer can maintain high-quality output printing free from thinned portions. During intervals, paper is fed, and charge supply pulses are applied to all print electrodes to give a uniform potential difference between each of the print electrodes and the counter electrode. In this way, electric charge is previously supplied to the ink meniscus. Consequently, a sufficient Coulomb force to permit ink droplets to be squirted is obtained. Therefore, during operation, the supplied energy can be suppressed. Under every circumstance, the electric charge on the ink surface can be retained. Hence, ink droplets can be squirted stably without nonuniformities.

  • Publication number: 20010039703
Abstract: A method of efficiently manufacturing desired piezoelectric actuators capable of being driven stably is disclosed. Each piezoelectric actuator includes a vibrating body constructed of a vibrator to which a piezoelectric body is mounted, a moving body for making contact with the vibrating body to move it, a pressure application member for applying appropriate pressure to the vibrating body and to the moving body, and a guide member for connecting together the vibrating body, the moving body, and the pressure application member. A second piezoelectric actuator assembly is fabricated by stacking a pressure application plate, a moving body plate, and a vibrating body plate on top of each other. The piezoelectric actuator assembly is cut at connector portions at once. A large number of piezoelectric actuators can be manufactured in one process step. Thus, the efficiency of manufacture can be improved. The connector portions are formed at vibrational nodes of the vibrating body. The connector portions are severed.
