  • Publication number: 20070206920
Abstract: To improve the convenience of a record medium and allow a record process and reproduction process to be more easily performed than before. When a clip edit list update process 121 that updates video data and audio data recorded on a disc 32 is executed, an index file management section 72 manages and updates an index file held in an index file hold section 51 as the video data and audio data are updated. At this point, a search section 92 searches disc internal IDs assigned to clips or edit lists contained in the index file for the maximum value. A disc internal ID generation section 91 generates a disc internal ID according to the maximum value. An index file management section 72 updates the index file with the disc internal ID generated by the disc internal ID generation section 91.

  • Publication number: 20070206465
Abstract: In order to perform simultaneous recording and reproduction, a large capacity of buffer memories were required. In addition, it was difficult to record data while reproducing data which was recorded by a different apparatus. The present invention has an objective of providing an information recording medium, a simultaneous recording and reproduction method, and an information recording and reproduction apparatus which guarantee simultaneous recording and reproduction. The simultaneous recording and reproduction is guaranteed by reproducing data recorded in an area having at least a minimum size fulfilling the simultaneous recording and reproduction condition which allows for four access operations, recording data in an area having at least the same size, and performing reproduction and recording alternately by switching reproduction to recording when the data amount in the reproduction buffer becomes full and switching recording to reproduction when the data amount in the recording buffer becomes empty.

  • Publication number: 20070192697
Abstract: To allow the determination of whether data can be reproduced to be easily performed. When a plurality of clips generated by a photographing process are connected as an edit, an edit list management section 15 identifies encoding systems of a plurality of clips (video files) to be connected and writes the identified encoding systems to an edit list file that manages an edited result. An optical disc 30 on which a clip, an edit list file, and so forth have been recorded is loaded into another reproduction apparatus. When a command that causes an edited result recorded on the optical disc 30 to be reproduced is input to the other reproduction apparatus, the reproduction apparatus reads encoding systems written in the edit list file and determines whether the encoding systems are systems for which that the reproduction apparatus can decode data. In this manner, the reproduction apparatus determines whether it can reproduce the edited result.

  • Patent number: 6618095
Abstract: A transmitting method serializes two series of signals into one series of signals, and transmits thereof. The two series of signals are produced through this way: a total number of bits of a luminance signal of an HDTV signal to be transmitted within a frame is divided into units corresponding to a total number of scanning lines ‘K’ per frame of one channel of an SDTV signal. Then K pcs. of transmission units per frame including a luminance signal and a color signal are produced in two series. Among the transmission units, at least the following data are inserted into the units corresponding to active scanning lines: (a) a given word of the control signal, (b) a signal comprising samples of N timed by a number of words of luminance signal within a given period of one horizontal scanning period of the SDTV, which includes a luminance signal and color signal of the SDTV, and (c) words corresponding to a given level. A transmitter realizing this method is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6289173
Abstract: In a recording and reproducing apparatus with image coding for compression coding of digital video signals and for recording and reproducing the compressed code, digital video signals are divided on a screen into coding blocks which are overlapped so as to share boundary pixels. DCT coefficient data in each coding block are divided into a plurality of groups, and coefficient data in two coding blocks overlapping on the screen are recorded to separate regions on a recording medium. When an error has occurred during a reproducing process, the state of the error occurrence is analyzed and an error correction responsive to the state of error occurrence is performed on coefficient data that has been lost due to the error. Thus, a stable, successful reproduced image can be obtained even if an error occurs during the recording and reproducing process.
