Publication number: 20090233512Abstract: The present invention provides a method by which a barrier rib substrate for a plasma display panel can be produced easily. A method for producing a barrier rib substrate for a plasma display panel of the present invention includes the steps of: producing a barrier rib substrate for a large plasma display panel by forming electrodes extending in a predetermined direction on a substrate and barrier ribs on the substrate or in the substrate itself; and producing four or more barrier rib substrates for small plasma display panels with barrier ribs formed up to the substrate end by performing, in regard to the barrier rib substrate for the large plasma display panel, division in a direction orthogonal to a direction in which the electrodes extend and at least one-time division in a direction parallel to the direction in which the electrodes extend.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2005Publication date: September 17, 2009Applicant: FUJITSU HITACHI PLASMA DISPLAY LIMITEDInventor: Tatsutoshi Kanae

Publication number: 20080238319Abstract: The present invention forms barrier ribs by using a glass sheet so that it becomes possible to reduce the cost of forming the barrier ribs, and to easily form the barrier ribs and electrodes. A dry film, which is fired to be formed into a dielectric layer, is formed on a substrate, a glass sheet having a thickness corresponding to a height of barrier ribs to be formed is secured onto the dry film, and a resist pattern corresponding to a shape of barrier ribs is formed on the glass sheet so that, by cutting off the glass sheet corresponding to unnecessary portions through sand blasting, the glass sheet is formed into the shape of barrier ribs, and the dry film is fired at a temperature lower than softening points of the substrate and the glass sheet so that the substrate and the glass sheet are anchored by the dielectric layer corresponding to the fired dry film; thus, the barrier ribs are formed.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 31, 2005Publication date: October 2, 2008Inventors: Tatsutoshi Kanae, Akihiro Fujinaga

Publication number: 20080018249Abstract: To extend phosphor lifetime and lower the production cost of forming the phosphors. A plurality of display electrodes 11, a dielectric layer 14 which covers the display electrodes 11, and a protective layer 15 which covers the dielectric layer 14 are formed on a front side first substrate 10, a plurality of address electrodes ADD, which intersect the display electrodes and form unit emission regions at the intersections, are formed on the second substrate 20, and a third electrode 30 is adhered on the second substrate with phosphors 36 interposed therebetween; and the first and the second substrates are sealed with a barrier 24 which demarcates the unit emission regions interposed therebetween. Since the phosphors 36 are separated from a discharge space by the second substrate 20, deterioration thereof caused by ion bombardment is prevented.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 24, 2007Publication date: January 24, 2008Inventors: Tatsutoshi Kanae, Hiroshi Yamanaka

Patent number: 6758905Abstract: The present invention provides a fluorescent layer forming apparatus for applying a fluorescent material paste into a recess defined between barrier ribs formed on a substrate for formation of a fluorescent layer in a plasma display panel production process. The apparatus comprises: a nozzle for ejecting the fluorescent material paste; and a plurality of fine attachments provided at one end of the nozzle with distal end portions thereof being arranged in convergent relation. The fluorescent material paste is ejected along the plurality of fine attachments thereby to be applied into the recess without formation of a clot. Thus, the fluorescent layer can accurately be formed in the intended recess between the barrier ribs without adhesion of the fluorescent material paste onto the top edges of the barrier ribs.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2003Date of Patent: July 6, 2004Assignee: Fujitsu Hitachi Plasma Display LimitedInventors: Kazuo Suzuki, Yoshimi Shirakawa, Tatsutoshi Kanae
