Abstract: An interactive communication apparatus is disclosed which has a video signal obtained by an image pickup device performing an image pickup activity and which has the obtained video signal sent to another apparatus through a communication device while causing a display device to display an image based on a video signal received from the other apparatus through the communication device. The apparatus includes: a storage device storing communicating party information about a communicating party at the other apparatus, the communicating party information including geographical location information and access point information about the communicating party; and a graphic user interface generating a graphic user interface screen in order to have the display device display the generated screen by mapping an identification image identifying the communicating party onto a map based on the communicating party information in such a manner as to indicate a local time applicable to the communicating party.

Abstract: A display method includes displaying a plurality of icons in list form on a display device by a list-form displaying section, enlarging, to a predetermined size, an icon selected from the icons displayed, when a different icon is selected, reducing the icon selected and enlarged to the predetermined size so as to have a size substantially equal to the size of each of icons which are not selected, and performing control so that, when the different icon is selected while the icon selected is being enlarged, the selected icon is temporarily enlarged to the predetermined size, and immediately after the enlargement, the temporarily enlarged icon is reduced so as to have a size substantially equal to the size of each of icons which are not selected.

Abstract: There is provided a novel menu selection method in a mobile phone. Also provided is a cursor displaying method with which a user can intuitively recognize a moving direction and moving speed. In addition, a novel scrollbar with which the user can recognize, in a case of displaying menus beyond a display screen, a range currently displayed on a display screen among all the menus and a current cursor position within the menus displayed on the current display screen.
