  • Patent number: 7840688
Abstract: There are provided an apparatus and method that generate a MAC list that serves as an access control list efficiently without burdening a user. A MAC list registration processing request packet is automatically transmitted by using as a trigger either a power-on process of the power source of a client apparatus connected to a network or an activation process of a specific application, e.g., an execution application for services using a home network. A server performs a registration process by acquiring information such as a MAC address from the received packet in accordance with a state of empty slots in the MAC list. According to this configuration, it is possible to easily and correctly generate the MAC list, which serves as the access control list, without burdening a user.

  • Patent number: 7805526
Abstract: In view of the connection of a home network to an external network via a home router, using a mechanism that access from the same network is provided with a source MAC address whereas a source address field is rewritten to a MAC address of the router in the case of external access via the router, whether or not access is made from the home network is automatically identified by comparing a MAC address of a device on the other side of communication with a MAC address of the home router. It is capable of suitably managing so that a client terminal uses the contents legitimately acquired on a home server within the scope of private use allowed by the copyright law.

  • Publication number: 20100238177
Abstract: A drawing processing device includes a rendering section, first and second figure drawing sections, a registration section, and a control section. The rendering section performs rendering based on a drawing command. The first figure drawing section draws a figure based on a figure pattern obtained by performing the rendering. When the rendering section performs the rendering for a figure, the registration section registers the figure pattern for the figure. If a figure drawing command is received and if a figure pattern corresponding to the received figure drawing command is stored, the second figure drawing section selects the corresponding registered figure pattern and draws a figure in place of the first figure drawing section. Based on an appearance state of figures in a page to be processed, the control section controls whether or not figure drawing performed by the second figure drawing section is caused to function in the page.

  • Patent number: 7792865
Abstract: An apparatus and a method are provided, which enable to perform an improved management processing based on an identifier information of a content on a server. The content providing server sets content-associated unique identifier information as property information that is a component of content-associated metadata, maintains the unique identifier information as content-associated metadata without changing the unique identifier information even if the logical/physical position of a content stored in the storage unit is changed, and maintains a setting value of unique identifier information, which is set associated with a received content, as metadata associated with the received content without changing the setting value of the unique identifier information. By this configuration, even if a content is moved between servers, a client can acquire the content based on the unique identifier.

  • Patent number: 7752289
Abstract: An apparatus and a method capable of efficiently and accurately constructing an access control configuration having high security are realized. Only the MAC address of a controller (client) 351 authorized by a user is authenticated and registered in a MAC address table of a device 352, and the device 352 performs MAC address filtering for permitting access by the controller 351 (client) which is authenticated and registered in the MAC address table. Furthermore, by making a registration completion notification and by performing version adjustment, a reliable access control configuration is constructed. The device authentication apparatus 350 avoids access from an unauthorized party which is not authenticated and registered, and makes the presence of a server not known to the controller which attempts to illegally perform device authentication. Therefore, access control with high security is realized.
