  • Publication number: 20040164485
Abstract: An image forming apparatus including a sheet conveying apparatus. When a sheet is jammed in a first conveying path, a first unit is pulled out in a direction substantially parallel to a first conveying path. In this way, a driven roller and a driving roller are separated from each other, and a work space is created. The jammed sheet is thus exposed to the first conveying path. It is therefore easy to put a hand into the work space and remove the sheet. This allows for easy maintenance, and easy operation for removing a sheet retained in the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6749891
Abstract: A precipitate film having plating resistance may be formed on the surface of a varistor element during sintering process. Accordingly, the manufacturing process can be shortened, thereby improving the productivity. The manufacturing method comprises (a) a first process of forming the varistor element whose main component is zinc oxide; (b) a second process of sintering the varistor element and precipitating zinc compound having at least one of acid resistance and alkali resistance on the surface of the varistor. Preferably, the manufacturing method further comprises (c) a process of attaching an external electrode to the varistor element, and the external electrode attaching process is executed after finishing the varistor element sintering process.

  • Publication number: 20020106224
Abstract: A first control member is disposed in a drum shaft away from a photoconductive drum, and a second control member is disposed in a roller shaft away from a transfer roller. The first and second control members abut on each other at their circumferential surfaces. This helps reduce an amount of displacement resulting from an impact caused by insertion of a recording paper sheet in between the photoconductive drum and the transfer roller, and thereby reduce vibrations in the photoconductive drum. Consequently, a toner image formed on the photoconductive drum and an unfixed toner image transferred onto the recording paper sheet are not affected by vibrations, so that a high-quality image is obtained that is free from blurriness or irregularities.

  • Patent number: 6242804
Abstract: A method of forming a nitride film by a reactive sputtering process includes the steps of (A) sputtering a first nitride film on a substrate by using a target of a refractory metal element under a first sputtering condition set such that a deposition of a nitride of the refractory metal element occurs on the substrate as a result of the sputtering, and (B) sputtering, after the step (A), a second nitride film on the first nitride film by using the target used in the step (A) under a second sputtering condition, wherein the second sputtering condition is set such that no deposition of the nitride occurs on the first nitride film.
