Patent number: 11204577Abstract: According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes an image carrier, a cleaning member, a determination unit, and a control unit. The image carrier carries a developer image. The cleaning member removes a developer adhering to a surface of the image carrier by a frictional force when the image carrier is rotated in a first direction. The determination unit determines an image forming amount in a plurality of continuous image forming jobs. The control unit rotates the image carrier in the first direction during the image forming period and in a second direction opposite to the first direction at reverse rotation timing, and changes a condition for rotation in the second direction according to the determination result.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2020Date of Patent: December 21, 2021Assignee: TOSHIBA TEC KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Masato Ogasawara, Tatsuya Kitajima

Patent number: 10514641Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a developing system, a drum, and a processor. The developing system includes a developing sleeve that is rotatable in a forward direction and a reverse direction and rotates in the forward direction to cause a developer toner filled in a container to adhere to a surface, and a blade that removes a part of the developer toner adhered to the surface of the developing sleeve. The drum receives a toner contained in the developer on the surface of the developing sleeve, and forms a toner image on a transfer belt used to transfer the toner image to the printing medium. The processor recognizes a temperature of the developing system when an operation of the developing system is stopped, determines a reverse rotation amount of the developing sleeve based on the recognized temperature, and reversely rotates the developing sleeve based on the reverse rotation amount.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2018Date of Patent: December 24, 2019Assignee: TOSHIBA TEC KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventor: Tatsuya Kitajima

Publication number: 20170230543Abstract: A server apparatus according to an embodiment comprises an authentication section and a setting control section. The authentication section executes an authentication processing for determining whether or not a user is the valid one. The setting control section, according to an authentication result and condition information designated by the user, selects setting information which is information relating to operations of an image forming apparatus used by the user and transmits the setting information to the image forming apparatus.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 9, 2016Publication date: August 10, 2017Inventors: Yukio Futamata, Tatsuya Kitajima, Takeshi Watanabe

Patent number: 5722005Abstract: An exposure step input circuit inputs a desired brightness of a printing image as one of a plurality of exposure steps and a lamp application voltage adjusting unit allows the application voltage of an exposure lamp to, on the bright side of the exposure steps, be increased with a smaller predetermined slope than a dark side each time the exposure step is switched in the bright direction. At this time, a shortage of an exposure is compensated for by lowering a surface potential on a photosensitive drum through the decreasing of a charge current by a charger or raising a developing bias voltage of a developing unit. An image forming apparatus thus provided can obtain a better image at all times by, even on the bright side of the exposure steps in the adjustment of an exposure amount, preventing a lowering in density of an image, deposition of carriers, and other disadvantages.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 1996Date of Patent: February 24, 1998Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventor: Tatsuya Kitajima

Patent number: 5657114Abstract: A copying machine comprises a cleaning device for cleaning toner remaining on the surface of a photoconductive drum, and a sensor for detecting image density of an image to be formed on the drum. The cleaning device includes a cleaning blade arranged to contact with drum, and an auxiliary cleaning mechanism arranged upstream the cleaning blade with respect to the rotating direction of the drum. The auxiliary cleaning mechanism has variable cleaning capacity. The cleaning capacity of the auxiliary cleaning mechanism is varied by a control unit in accordance with the image density detected by the sensor.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 1995Date of Patent: August 12, 1997Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventors: Tatsuya Kitajima, Natsuki Tachibana

Patent number: 5077684Abstract: For use in informing each of zeroth through (N-1)-th adapters (N represents a positive integer) of its packaged location from a processor when the processor and the adapters are packaged on a backboard, the processor comprises a signal producer which produces first and second number signals. The first number signal represents an initial integer as a first number. The second number signal represents the initial integer plus an additional integer as a second number. The additional integer is selected from zero to (N-1). The zeroth adapter comprises a detecting circuit, a judging circuit, an adder, and an internal connection line. The detecting circuit detects the first number to produce a detection signal representative of the first number. The judging circuit judges whether or not the detection signal is coincident with the second number signal to produce a coincidence signal when the detection signal is coincident with the second number signal.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 1989Date of Patent: December 31, 1991Assignee: NEC CorporationInventor: Tatsuya Kitajima

Patent number: 4852625Abstract: A tire for a two-wheeled vehicle, particularly, a bicycle intended for a racing purposes having an improved running stability, superior durability and impact resistance, and reduced weight. The tire includes a carcass layer formed by arranging cord belts with a rubber paste coated thereon in such a manner that the cords of the cord belts cross each other. A tube is fitted to the inside of the carcass layer, and a rubber tread portion is bonded to the outer periphery of the carcass layer. The cord belt is produced in bias form with alternately arranged cords superior in durability and impact resistance and cords superior in adhesion with rubber. The two types of cords may be equal in number, or a majority of one of the two types of cords employed, depending upon the precise application of the tire and the conditions under which it is intended for use.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 1988Date of Patent: August 1, 1989Assignee: Mitsubishi Belting Ltd.Inventors: Satoshi Mashimo, Tatsuya Kitajima, Masayuki Tanaka, Shinji Kuramoto
