  • Patent number: 10005412
Abstract: A vehicle front portion structure includes: a suspension member, first and second crash boxes, a front cross member and braces. The braces extends obliquely outward in a vehicle width direction and toward a vehicle rearward direction, with front end portions of the braces being fastened to the front cross member and rear end portions of the braces being fastened to arm portions. The braces are equipped with radiator support portions that support a radiator provided at a vehicle front side of a power unit, and with easily deformed portions which, when a crash load has been input, become deformation origins that enable the braces to deform in such a way that the rear end portions move closer to the front cross member.

  • Patent number: 9828032
Abstract: A vehicle front section structure includes a front side member, a gusset that juts out from a side face of a front end of the front side member, a bumper reinforcement that is disposed at a front end side of the vehicle body front section, and a crash box that is disposed between front ends of the front side member and the gusset, and an outer side section of the bumper reinforcement, that couples both of the front ends and the outer side section together, and undergoes compressive plastic deformation due to collision load. A flat portion is integrally formed at an end of the bumper reinforcement, with a front face of the flat portion extending along the vehicle width direction and a vehicle up-down direction and, in vehicle front view, overlapping with a side wall portion at the vehicle width direction outer side of the crash box.

  • Patent number: 9517800
Abstract: A first opening is formed in a bent portion at a lower end portion of a pillar outer panel, and a second opening is formed in the bent portion at a lower end portion of pillar outer reinforcement. The strength of a front outside portion is reduced at the lower end portions of the pillar outer panel and the pillar outer reinforcement. When load toward the rear oblique inside acts on a lower end portion of a front pillar, the front pillar deforms about an origin at the front outside portions of the pillar outer panel and the pillar outer reinforcement. Namely, the front pillar can be deformed such that a front end portion of a front wheel moves further toward the vehicle width direction outside. The front end portion of the front wheel moves further toward the vehicle width direction outside, thereby promoting toe-out of the front wheel.

  • Patent number: 9296360
Abstract: A vehicle occupant protection device includes a frontal collision airbag that is provided in front of a front seat, and inflates and deploys by gas being supplied into the airbag, and in which vent holes are provided in both a right side and a left side thereof; a frontal collision inflator that supplies the gas into the airbag by being activated; a discharge limiting portion capable of limiting a discharge of the gas from at least one vent hole, from among the left vent hole and the right vent hole; and a controller that activates the frontal collision inflator when a frontal collision is detected or predicted, and that controls the discharge limiting portion such that the discharge limiting portion limits the discharge of the gas from the one vent hole when a configuration of the frontal collision is an asymmetric collision on a side with the one vent hole.
