Abstract: A lamp holding apparatus for mounting a lamp to a lamp mounting member includes a mounting plate provided with a locking portion which protrudes to a base side, inserted into a mounting hole provided at the base and is lockable to a peripheral edge of a back side thereof. The mounting plate is provided with a pin which protrudes to an opposite side from the base side and is capable of being gripped by an operator at a time of being attached to and detached from the base. The locking portion is disposed at a position corresponding to a back side of the pin. As a result, when the locking portion is inserted into the mounting hole while gripping the pin, both the locking portion and the mounting hole are easily positioned. Thus, at a time of insertion, bending forces are reduced.

Abstract: A lamp holding apparatus for mounting a lamp to a base member includes a mounting plate having a pair of locking portions protruding to a base side. The locking portion is inserted into a mounting hole provided at the base and capable of being locked to a peripheral edge on its back side. Abutting portions, which protrude to the base side and are capable of abutting the base at the time of mounting, are provided on a bottom surface of the mounting plate that is an opposing surface to the base. The abutting portions are provided at three spots with one of the locking portions interposed therebetween. At the time of mounting, each of the abutting portions abut the base, and the mounting plate is elastically deformed so as to be warped, whereby the locking surface of the locking portion is kept in the state in which it is locked to a peripheral edge of a back side of the mounting hole by its elastic force.

Abstract: In a surface light source device including: a light source section having a light emitting face; an optical panel arranged so as to cover the light emitting face; and a at least one frame having a front face portion that covers the peripheral portion of the light emitting face, the at least one frame is composed of a plurality of divisional members connected with each other and a light shielding portion is provided at each slit between the divisional members in the front face portion of the at least one frame. Whereby, light from the light source section is prevented from leaking through each slit between the divisional members in the front face portion of the at least one frame.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display comprises a liquid crystal panel (22), a group of optical sheets (32) disposed rearward from the liquid crystal panel (22), a light source (28) disposed rearward from the group of the optical sheets (32), a frame-shaped front frame (21, 23) disposed forward from at least the group of the optical sheets (32), a back chassis (31) disposed rearward from the light source (28) and fixedly connected to the front frame (21, 23) directly or indirectly, and a holding member (27) integrally holding the group of the optical sheets (32) to keep the group of the optical sheets (32) held in position integrally, when the back chassis (31) and the front frame (21, 23) are unfixed from each other.

Abstract: In a display device in which a display panel is supported from the back by a back frame, the back frame is composed of a pair of long side portions and a pair of short side portions each having an angular structure in section. Whereby, torsional strength is increased while suppressing increase in weight. This leads to increase in torsional strength while suppressing increase in weight even in a large-sized display screen.
