    Abstract: A water purification apparatus includes a bottomed cylindrical container tank, a lid member for fluid-tightly closing an upper opening of the container tank, an upper filter which forms an upper space between the lid member and itself, a lower filter which forms a lower space between a bottom plate of the container tank and itself, a water passage pipe which passes through the upper and lower filters and which establishes a communication between the upper and lower spaces, and an ion-exchange resin loaded in a space defined by the container tank, the upper and lower filters and the water passage pipe. The lid member has a water supply pipe for supplying water to the upper space, and an overflow pipe which connects to the water passage pipe. A water conveyance pipe for discharging the pure water in the container tank to outside is connected to the lower space.

    Abstract: A magnetic disk drive mechanism has a magnetic disk, a magnetic disk drive motor for rotating the magnetic disk, a magnetic head for recording and reproducing information on and from the magnetic disk, and a chassis defining a hermetically sealed chamber which houses the magnetic disk, the magnetic disk drive motor, and the magnetic head therein. Printed wire patterns are disposed on a surface of a flat stator base of the motor which faces into the hermetically sealed chamber, the printed wire patterns having terminals extending out of the hermetically sealed chamber. An O-ring is interposed between the chassis and the stator base, for hermetically sealing the terminals from the hermetically sealed chamber.

    Abstract: A signal pickup device for an apparatus for playing back an information storage medium such as a video disc comprises a cartridge casing mounted in a signal pickup device body, and a pickup cartridge housed in the cartridge casing and having a reproducing stylus for picking up signals from the video disc, a cantilever assembly composed of a cantilever supporting on one end thereof the reproducing stylus and a suspension member mounted on an opposite end of the cantilever, and a holder supporting the suspension member and attached to the cartridge casing for pivotable movement about the suspension member. The signal pickup device also has a coil through which a current passes for magnetically enabling the reproducing stylus to impose a stylus force on the video disc. The holder can be adjusted in angular position through the pivotable movement about the suspension member to adjust the stylus force.

    Abstract: In a pickup carriage transporting mechanism for a disk record player, such as a video disk player, a stopper made of a plate like member having a U-shaped recess is provided to correct the attitude of the carriage. The carriage is arranged to move left and right so that the stylus of the pickup moves linearly to pick up information from a disk on a turntable. Since the carriage is pulled at its front end by a loop-like wire to effect the leftward and rightward movement, the carriage is apt to be inclined from a desired angle. When the carriage is returned to its resting position, the front wall portion of the carriage will be partially received in the U-shaped recess having a width which is equal to or slightly greater than the thickness of the front wall portion so that inclination of the carriage is forcibly corrected by the stopper.
