    Abstract: An aqueous solution containing ions of one or more chalcophile elements is used as a catholyte and electrolyzed in the presence of elemental sulfur powder suspended therein to precipitate the chalcophile elements in the form of sulfide. The precipitated sulfide is then separated from the aqueous layer.
