Abstract: Disclosed is an asphalt composition to which a water soluble prepolymer which is resinified while the reaction proceeds gradually in the aqueous solution is added, wherein the strength of the asphalt composition is notably improved. Further, the resinification speed can freely be controlled by the action of a resinification accelerator. Accordingly, the additive for the emulsified asphalt and the asphalt composition for blending at cold temperatures can be applied effectively to various applications such as road pavement, railroad, waterproof agents, and adhesives.

Abstract: An additive to cement comprises a granular zinc salt of a copolymer of an olefin having 2 to 8 carbon atoms and an ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic anhydride, prepared by reacting the powder of the copolymer with powder of zinc oxide or zinc hydroxide in the presence of water.

Abstract: An aqueous dispersant composition for cement comprises 100 parts by weight of a copolymer of an olefin having 2 to 8 carbon atoms and an ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic anhydride, the copolymer being in the form of fine particles having an average size of 0.1 to 20 micrometers, 15 to 300 parts by weight, of zinc, as zinc oxide or zinc hydroxide, and water, the composition being adjusted to have a pH value of 6 to 12.

Abstract: A hydraulic cement composition is effectively dispersed with the use as a dispersion agent of a reaction product obtained by oxidizing and polymerizing a condensate of formaldehyde with a naphthalenesulfonic acid salt and/or an alkylnaphthalenesulfonic acid salt to produce a constitutional unit which is derived by elimination of a methylene group, hydroxyzation and condensation polmerization, or oxidation and ring-opening of the naphthalene ring.
