    Abstract: A suspension (1a) includes a plurality of roll sections (1b) each of which has a semicylindrical shape in a cross section. The roll sections (1b) are disposed side by side based on a straight line connecting two points on an inner periphery or an outer periphery. The roll sections (1b) form a closed loop in a manner that a roll section (1b) of the roll sections (1b) being disposed first adjoins a roll section (1b) of the roll sections (1b) being disposed last. Adjacent roll sections (1b) are coupled with each other through a boundary section (2) forming a continuous three dimensional curved surface. A linearity of compliance improves, and generation of distortion or rolling is restricted using the suspension (1a).

    Abstract: The present invention provides a loudspeaker capable of matching a sound image and a picture image on a screen of an image reproducer with each other in simple construction and a simple method of installation. The loudspeaker is located above the image reproducer in the vicinity thereof and so constructed as to reproduce a center channel signal in a multichannel sound signal for a movie or the like as a principal object, which comprises a main speaker unit, particular band preventing means for suppressing the level of a particular band in a band of not less than approximately 4 kHz of the main speaker unit, a sub-speaker unit, particular band passing means connected to the sub-speaker unit for passing only the particular band, and a dispersing device located on a front surface of the sub-speaker unit and so constructed that a reproduced sound radiated from the sub-speaker unit is mainly composed of a diffused sound.

    Abstract: A dome speaker comprising a dome-shaped diaphragm formed of a highly rigid material such as titanium or a titanium alloy, and having at least one elongated cut-out portion which varies the rigidity of the diaphragm and prevents a dip in the anti-resonance frequency range and a peak in the high resonance frequency range of the dome speaker. The speaker also includes a voice coil bobbin connected to the diaphragm. Preferably, the diaphragm includes two elongated cut-out portions in parallel relation to each other and with a center portion of the diaphragm interposed therebetween. A reinforcing rib may be integrally formed at an end of each cut-out portion. The cut-out portion may be covered either by a peripheral member made of a soft material or by a loss stopper formed of a viscoelastic material.

    Abstract: A structure for a dome speaker includes a dome-shaped diaphragm formed of a high rigidity material and having an outer periphery, a voice coil bobbin secured at a top end thereof to the outer periphery of the diaphragm, a voice coil mounted about the bobbin, and a variation means in the bobbin for varying the resonance conditions of the diaphragm. The variation means includes at least one cut-out portion provided at the top end of the bobbin and a sheet which closes the cut-out portion. Preferably, the diaphragm is made of a nitrified titanium alloy and the sheet is made from a material softer than the bobbin. The cut-out portion may have a width from about 7 to about 50 percent of the total circumferential length of the bobbin.
