  • Patent number: 5208520
Abstract: In the pedal assembly of a sewing machine drive device, a potentiometer operating member is guided by a mounting stand secured to the pedal stand, to control the slide shaft of a direct acting type potentiometer, and a speed changing pedal including a depressing board to depress the potentiometer operating member with its one end portion is coupled to the pedal stand with the other end portion. When the speed changing pedal is stepped on, a signal is outputted to change the speed of rotation of the sewing machine according the movement of the pedal thus stepped on. The pedal stand may have an opening with which the pedal is swingably engaged. In addition, signal pedals may be arranged in alignment with the speed changing pedal with the same mounting means provided at the position of those pedals, so as to allow the pedals to swap in position with one another.

  • Patent number: 5067368
Abstract: A pedal mechanism for a sewing machine drive device, comprising: a support member fixedly mounted on a support plate extending horizontally between legs of a sewing machine table; a pedal mounting base mounted adjacent to the support plate, a foot-operated pedal being mounted on the pedal mounting base, the pedal transmitting an operation signal to a sewing machine controller when the pedal is pressed down; and an articulated linkage mechanism for connecting the support member and the pedal mounting base in such a manner that the linkage mechanism can be angulaly moved so as to move the pedal mounting base between an operating position and a non-operating position while maintaining the base in a horizontal condition, so that the pedal mounting base can be placed on the support plate.

  • Patent number: 5050711
Abstract: A stationary brake member (45) which is used in an electromagnetic brake apparatus, comprises a first press-worked plate (45h) and a second press-worked plate (45m) which are laminated to each other. The second press-worked plate (45m) has plural hooks (45q), (45s) to grip the first press-worked plate (45h). The first press-worked plate (45h) has plural projections (45k) with spaces (45t) therebetween, and the projections are buried in the cast bracket (31), whereby the first press-worked plate (45h) is firmly fixed to the bracket (31).

  • Patent number: 4742430
Abstract: A sewing machine control box mounted on a non-operative end of a sewing machine frame, and including a partition board which divides the control box into first and second chambers. A transformer which gives off heat in operation is provided in a first chamber, and a printed circuit board which otherwise might be damaged by the heat generated by the transformer is provided in a second chamber. The dividing of the control box into these first and second chambers prevents excessive heat transfer from the transformer to the printed circuit board during operation of the sewing machine.
