    Abstract: A cooking apparatus with: a) a main vessel defining a treatment space and having a bottom wall and a peripheral wall extending upwardly from the bottom wall into a rim; and b) a lid that is repositionable relative to the main vessel to selectively control access to the treatment space. The lid has an edge portion that cooperates with the rim with the lid in a closed position. The rim has vertically spaced, upwardly facing, first and second surfaces.
