  • Patent number: 11440549
Abstract: An automated lane change control detects a preceding vehicle that is traveling in a same travel lane as a host vehicle, determines whether a predetermined condition is satisfied between the host vehicle and the preceding vehicle, and executes an automated lane change in the host vehicle after a first predetermined time has elapsed from determining that the predetermined condition is satisfied. The automated lane change of the host vehicle is executed after a first predetermined time has elapsed after determining that the predetermined condition has been satisfied. A second predetermined time is set that is longer than the first predetermined time as a time for prohibiting the automated lane change upon assessing the presents of a previous driver lane change. The automated lane change is prohibited in an interval that starts when a prohibiting condition is satisfied and ends when the second predetermined time elapses.

  • Patent number: 11155274
Abstract: A travel-lane determination unit determines whether a vehicle is going to enter a traffic lane on which a toll booth is provided. After it is determined that the vehicle is going to enter the traffic lane, a travel control unit stops the vehicle at a position before the toll booth in a travel direction of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20210269031
Abstract: Based on information acquired by an external sensor and an internal sensor, which acquire information about a periphery of a host vehicle and host vehicle information, determining as to whether or not the host vehicle has stopped with the right/left-turn travel being intended. When a right/left turn stop determination is made for the host vehicle, determining as to whether or not there is an oncoming vehicle in an intended travel trajectory of the host vehicle. When the oncoming vehicle is determined to not be present in the intended travel trajectory, determining as to whether or not a far-side oncoming vehicle present on a far side of the intended travel trajectory has stopped. When the far-side oncoming vehicle is determined to have stopped, the right/left-turn travel is allowed.

  • Publication number: 20210269041
Abstract: A vehicle control method executed by a processor for controlling a subject vehicle includes: acquiring, from a sensor for detecting a state of surroundings of the subject vehicle, detection data of another vehicle traveling in an adjacent lane adjacent to a travel lane in which the subject vehicle is traveling, and setting, on the adjacent lane, a target point for the subject vehicle to change a lane from the travel lane to the adjacent lane based on a position relationship between the subject vehicle and the other vehicle, specifying the other vehicle that is located behind the target point as a rear vehicle, and starting blinking of the direction indicator of the subject vehicle when a rear end of the subject vehicle is located ahead of the front end of the rear vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11077879
Abstract: A travel-lane determination unit determines whether a vehicle has entered a traffic lane on which a toll booth is provided. After it is determined that the vehicle has entered the traffic lane, a travel control unit pulls the vehicle to a position shifted from the center of the traffic lane toward the toll booth in a traffic-lane width direction, by the time when the vehicle reaches the toll booth.

  • Publication number: 20210217304
Abstract: A driving plan display method controls an in-vehicle road surface image display device that can display an image on a road surface is controlled using a display controller to display driving plan-related information of a host vehicle on the road surface. In the method, the driving plan-related information of the host vehicle and information relating to prediction of a pedestrian's crossing is acquired. Based on the acquired information, a predicted crossing point is obtained at which the pedestrian's crossing is predicted on a planned travel route of the host vehicle. Then, an image of the driving plan-related information of the host vehicle from a current position of the host vehicle to the crosswalk as the predicted crossing point is displayed on the road surface of the crosswalk as the predicted crossing point with the road surface image display device.

  • Patent number: 10953896
Abstract: In lane selection control in which a lane in which a host vehicle travels is selected based on the map information and information acquired by an external sensor that acquires periphery information of the host vehicle, a self-position correction object in an intended travel route is identified based on the map information. When the host vehicle reaches a correction point where the self-position correction object is present, a determination is made as to whether or not the self-position correction object can be recognized by the external sensor from the lane in which the host vehicle travels. Upon determined that the self-position correction object cannot be recognized from the center lane in which the host vehicle travels, a lane change to a leftmost lane where the self-position correction object can be recognized is made before the host vehicle reaches the correction point.

  • Patent number: 10926693
Abstract: A direction indicator is configured to start blinking in response to an operation of a driver of a subject vehicle and automatically turn off after a first blinking time elapses. When the subject vehicle changes lanes in an automated or autonomous manner due to the operation of the driver, a control apparatus is used to extend the first blinking time to a second blinking time longer than the first blinking time and control the direction indicator to automatically turn off.
