  • Publication number: 20080301334
Abstract: A disk control apparatus formats each track of a storage disk device in a short time. The disk control apparatus (1) has a cache memory (14) which stores a part of data, a management table (20) which indicates whether a track of the storage disk device (2) has been initialized to a predetermined track format, and control units (10, 12) which create the track format referring to the management table (20) when an input/output request is received from the host (3). The factory shipment format flag of this management table is set to “1” when factory formatting is executed, and the table is transferred to the disk. By this method, high-speed factory formatting is possible.

  • Patent number: 6707781
Abstract: A disc changer comprises a disc storage device, a disc reproduction device and an elevation device. The disc storage device is capable of storing discs to be arranged in a apparatus main body in a stacked state. The disc reproduction device has a carriage chassis on which the first components comprising a turntable and a pickup are mounted. The elevation device is capable of elevating the disc reproduction device in the stacking direction of the disc stored in the disc storage device. A force application device is provided at a position in abutment with the carriage chassis so as to apply force to the carriage chassis, when the disc reproduction device is moved to a standby position by the elevation device. The force is applied in the opposite direction to a movement direction of the disc reproduction device toward the standby position.

  • Patent number: 6430121
Abstract: While a certain information-recorded medium is reproduced by a reproduction processing means of a reproduction apparatus, when the information-recorded medium is designated again within a prescribed time by a user through an operating means, the control means controls the reproduction processing means so that the pertinent information-recorded medium can be reproduced on the basis of the reproduction information stored in a storage means. In addition, when the pertinent information-recorded medium is designated again, the control means makes control of externally indicating whether or not the pertinent information-recorded medium should be reproduced on the basis of the reproduction information stored in the storage means.

  • Publication number: 20020085456
Abstract: An in-vehicle audio information reproduction control system with which the order of reproduction can be easily edited for music pieces which are stored onto a hard disk of the in-vehicle audio information reproducing apparatus. A music piece data managing apparatus is provided at a place which is away from the in-vehicle audio information reproducing apparatus and having an environment good for installation. Only the music piece reproducing order data edited by the managing apparatus is recorded onto a portable recording medium such as a memory stick or the like. By accessing the in-vehicle audio information reproducing apparatus by using the recording medium, a new reproduction address is allocated to the music piece data stored onto the hard disk in the in-vehicle audio information reproducing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5991246
Abstract: A casing of a device has a pair of vertical side walls, and a plurality of vertically arranged optical discs. Each side wall has a vertical guide slit. A disc player has two pins projected from opposite sides. Elevation plates are horizontally slidably mounted on the vertical side walls at outsides thereof. Each of the elevation plates has a V-shaped guide slit comprising an upper diagonal slit and a lower diagonal slit. Each pin is slidably engaged with vertical guide slit and with the V-shaped guide slit so that disc player is held at a vertical position. The elevation plates are driven in a horizontal direction which is changed to an opposite direction at a joint between the upper diagonal slit and the lower diagonal slit. Thus, each of the pins is moved along the vertical guide slit and the V-shaped guide slit, so that the disc player is carried to a position corresponding an optical disc.

  • Patent number: 5663943
Abstract: A vibration damping support mechanism for a recored data reproducing apparatus is provided which allows the apparatus to be installed in either a horizontal or vertical position without shifting the tensioning direction of damper springs. Each pair of the damping springs is mounted between a main reproducing unit and an outer casing. The two damper springs are arranged to extend in the thicknesswise and depthwise directions of the main reproducing unit respectively or arranged tilting at a predetermined angle. In the horizontal position, external vibrations are absorbed by the elastic action of one of the two damper springs and thus prevented from propagating directly to the main reproducing unit. Similarly in the vertical position, such external vibrations are absorbed by the elastic action of the other damper spring and prevented from propagating directly to the same.
