    Abstract: An implantable marker is configured to deliver a therapy to a patient and includes a marker and a target isotope. The marker is configured to enhance visibility of a treatment region of the patient when implanted in the patient and viewed with an imaging modality. The target isotope is coupled to at least a portion of the marker, and has a non-radioactive state and a radioactive state. At least a portion of the target isotope is configured to be induced from the non-radioactive state to the radioactive state when the target isotope is irradiated with one or more of gamma rays, neutrons, alpha particles, beta particles, or ions. The target isotope emits a localized therapeutic dose of radiation to target tissue adjacent the implantable marker when the target isotope is in the radioactive state.
