Abstract: The preferred embodiment of the present invention provides a system and method for programming and/or charging one or more audio/video devices such that the audio/video devices will be programmed and charged to receive transmitted audio and video signals associated with an event, allowing a user to use the audio/video device to observe the sights and sounds of the event. A preferred embodiment of the present invention includes a cart with a docking port for each of a plurality of personal audio/video devices, a charger configured to charge the power source of each personal audio/video display device, and programming logic configured to program each of the personal audio/video devices.

Abstract: A video content distribution and management system is provided that comprises an event content recorder recording video content associated with an event as an event recording. A workstation stores and edits the event recording to form a composite event review file that is passed to a system manager over a restricted access network. The workstation is located remote from a system manager. The system manager automatically routes the composite event review file to the workstation which enables a user to designate a video segment from the composite event review file. The workstation forms a video clip from the video segment and enables the user to add annotation information to the video clip to form an annotated video clip. The workstation conveys the annotated video clip to the system manager for redistribution.

Abstract: A handheld device in connection with an audio/video system receives and processes video and/or audio signals and displays images to a user or produces sound audible to user. The handheld device may provide for capturing and storing images or continuous video. The handheld also may provide for enhanced viewing of the event using an optics system.

Abstract: A portable receiver device that comprises of a receiver component for receiving audio and video signals from a remote source and a viewing component for viewing local content and a display for displaying at least one of (i) video content defined by the video signals and (ii) local content from the viewing component, and wherein at least one of the received video signals and local content are encrypted.

Abstract: A method is provided for acquiring rights to content for transmission at an event. The method comprises identifying at least one of sources, carriers and owners of content for transmission at an event. The sources, carriers and owners include at least one of event content sources, event content carriers, event content owners, non-event content sources, non-event content carriers, non-event content owners, venue owners, event organizers and event participants. The method includes determining access rights to be acquired to transmit the content at the events, and establishing at least one agreement with at least one of the sources, carriers and owners to acquire the access rights to transmit the content at the event. The method may include establishing separate agreements with the sources of the content, the carriers of the content and the owners of the content.

Abstract: A system and method for providing content for access by a portable device at an event are provided. The system includes an interface to receive signals from a plurality of sources. The plurality of sources are located at an event and remote from the event. The signals define event content and non-event content. The system further includes a processor for processing the received signals to generate combined signals based upon the received signals from the plurality of sources. The system also includes a transmitter for transmitting to a plurality of portable devices at the event the combined signals. The combined signals are configured to allow a user to select content using the portable device receiving the combined signals.
