  • Publication number: 20080071962
Abstract: A device connection method for connecting a host having a peripheral bus to a peripheral device by the peripheral bus is provided. Firstly, as the peripheral device is connected to a peripheral gateway, a first information signal is outputted through a communication link. Next, a virtual device is mapped to the peripheral device in response to the first information signal, wherein the virtual device is compactable with the peripheral bus. Afterwards, as the peripheral bus of the host is connected to the virtual device, a second information signal is outputted through the peripheral bus in response to the first information signal to inform the host of a connection event taking place at the virtual device, so that the host enables the peripheral bus to install the peripheral device through the virtual device, wherein the host is connected to the peripheral device through the peripheral bus and the communication link.

  • Publication number: 20080046711
Abstract: A computer system comprising an embedded system and a main computer system is provided. The embedded system comprises a memory device and a virtual firmware hub. The memory device is for storing a boot code of the main computer system. The virtual firmware hub is connected to the main computer system. The virtual firmware hub is for reading the boot code. As the main computer system is booted, the main computer system inputs a loading command to the virtual firmware hub. The virtual firmware hub reads the boot code stored in the memory device according to the loading command and outputs the boot code to the main computer system accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20080040596
Abstract: An embedded system includes a CPU, a section-swapping control device, a memory device and a section mapping device. The CPU has a boot code initializing address. The section-swapping control device detects a boot condition of the CPU and thus outputs a swap signal. The memory device includes a first memory section and a second memory section for respectively storing a first boot code and a second boot code. The section mapping device is coupled to the CPU and the memory device. The section mapping device receives the swap signal and thus maps the boot code initializing address to an initial bit address of one of the first and second memory sections such that the CPU is booted according to one of the first and second boot codes.

  • Patent number: 7234082
Abstract: An apparatus of remote server console redirection is described. The apparatus provides multi-managers to control remote server computers simultaneously. The apparatus includes at least one monitoring computer and a console redirection proxy service server (CRPSS). The monitoring computer executes a browser program and assigns a remote server computer to be controlled. The CRPSS determines whether the assigned remote server computer is on monitoring. If the assigned remote server computer is on monitoring, the CRPSS directly sends display images of the assigned remote server computer to the monitoring computer. If the assigned remote server computer is not on monitoring, the CRPSS issues a console redirection command and a reboot command to the assigned remote server computer. Therefore, the display images of the assigned remote server computer are sent to the monitoring computer by way of the CRPSS.

  • Publication number: 20050198203
Abstract: A three-tier architecture is utilized for controlling a plurality of remote computers in both text mode and graphic mode. System Management Servers (SMS) are placed between browsers and the remote computers. Firstly, users select one remote computer via the browser. The browser communicates with the SMS, and then the SMS communicates with the selected remote computer via an out-of-band channel. Correspondingly, the selected remote computer redirects its text console data to the browser. IP address is also obtained via the three-tier architecture and then users utilize the browser to access a graphic server of the selected remote computer according to the IP address for controlling and monitoring the remote computer.
