The output terminal device includes a first pressurizing member for filling the first storage container with high-pressure air. The receiving terminal device includes an air pressure adjusting member for adjusting the air pressure inside the second storage container. When the liquid transfer apparatus is in a non-transferring state, the air pressure inside the second storage container is high enough to prevent the liquid in the first storage container flow into the connecting pipeline. And when the liquid transfer apparatus is in a transferring state, the pressure difference between the inside of the first storage container and the inside of the second storage container is sufficient to drive the liquid in the first storage container to enter the second storage container.

    Abstract: The upper housing of a flatbed scanner is provided with a plurality of integrally formed block members for locating a transparent platform on which an object to be scanned is placed. Each block member includes a horizontal block piece and a vertical block piece protruding from the horizontal block piece. The horizontal block piece is a protruding portion extending perpendicular to an internal surface of the upper housing for restricting horizontal movement of the transparent platform and the vertical block piece has a vertical retaining section having an inclined surface which flexes in the horizontal direction as the transparent platform is pushed past the vertical block piece, the vertical retaining section then recovering to vertically secure the transparent platform on the internal surface. The transparent platform can be mounted over the upper housing with no need to use adhesive tape.

The calibration strip is mounted on the rectangular transparent plate so that either the upper housing or the surface of the transparent plate will not be damaged if the calibration strip has to replaced during the assembly of the scanning device. Furthermore, a darkened image generated by a gap existing between a background plate of an upper cover of the scanning device and the transparent plate can be prevented during scanning process.
