  • Patent number: 6340292
Abstract: The invention provides an anti-fracture fan structure including a hub, a plurality of blades, and a plurality of ribs. The hub has an inner surface formed inside and encircling it. The plurality of blades are arranged outside and around the hub. The plurality of ribs projects from the inner surface of the hub into the inside of the hub. Each of the plurality of ribs is not perpendicular to the inner surface of the hub. Furthermore, the anti-fracture fan further includes a shielding-can situated inside the hub and in contact with the plurality of ribs. Moreover, the hub can be formed of a plastic material and the shielding-can can be formed of a metal material. The ribs can be easily warped when the shielding-can expands.

  • Patent number: 6297444
Abstract: A fixing device disposed on an opening of a guiding tube for fixing a heat sink on the opening is disclosed. The fixing device includes a circular rib and three elastic fixers. The circular rib is set around the opening for depositing the heat sink and sealing seams between the opening and the heat sink when the heat sink is assembled onto the opening. The first elastic fixer is set on the circular rib and has a first inclined plane for fixing the heat sink on the opening by pulsing the first inclined plane against the heat sink along a first direction. The second elastic fixer is set on the circular rib and has an indent for fixing the heat sink on the opening by locking the heat sink in the indent to prevent the heat sink from moving along a second direction. The third elastic fixer is set on the circular rib and has a contact structure for pushing the heat sink along a third direction. The first, second, and third directions are perpendicular to each other.

  • Patent number: 6270313
Abstract: The present invention discloses a cooling system for temperature control, e.g., removing heat from electronic circuits. The cooling system includes a fan and an airflow guiding system where the guiding system includes an inlet air duct for guiding the airflow to the fan. The inlet air duct includes turbulence reduction grid for separating the air duct into a plurality of isolated flow path whereby the air turbulence is reduced. In a preferred embodiment, the airflow guiding system further includes an outlet duct for incorporating the fan therein wherein the outlet portion and the fan are directed to a direction different from the inlet air duct for guiding the airflow to the fan. In another preferred embodiment, the outlet duct and the fan are directed to a direction perpendicular to the inlet air duct for guiding the airflow to the fan.

  • Patent number: 6265798
Abstract: A motor having a magnetic bearing comprises a base formed with a bearing seat; a stator fixed to the base; a rotor provided with a rotation shaft and rotatable with respect to the stator by magnetic forces generated from excitation; a bearing fixed to the bearing seat of the base for receiving the rotation shaft of the rotor; and a magnetic element pair including a first element and a second element. The first element is telescopically interference-fitted on the rotation shaft, the second element is fixed relative to the bearing seat and lets the rotation shaft insert therethrough, and a magnetic force is generated between the first element and the second element. When the rotor rotates and an external force acts on the rotor in a direction, a magnetic force between the magnetic element pair counteracts the external force to achieve an axial positioning effect and avoid the contact wear.
