Abstract: A method and an apparatus for Internet connection of a mobile communication terminal are disclosed. The Internet connection method includes extracting URL (uniform resource locator) information from web sites of the Internet and storing the URL information and connecting to a web site of Internet by using the extracted URL information, wherein extracting URL comprises inputting at least one numeric value representative of the URL information and inputting an designated key for Internet connection after inputting the associated numeric values. According to the present invention, a user may connect to a desired web site by inputting a web site name by using numeric keys and an Internet key. Accordingly, the quantity of key strokes required for connecting to a web site is reduced and user convenience is improved.

Abstract: A handheld gesture recognition control apparatus and its method are provided for a mobile phone. The input method of the present invention includes collecting a plurality of images; storing the images as control images; mapping the control images to corresponding control commands; capturing an image taken by a camera as a current image; comparing the current image to the control images; selecting one of the control images as a target control image according to a comparison result; extracting a control command mapped to the target control image; and executing the control command.

Abstract: A method of displaying a caller ID in a WiMAX/GSM integrated support portable terminal is provided. When a service is requested from a portable terminal, a message is transmitted for confirming whether to perform a caller ID (CID) display service through a corresponding channel through which the service has been requested. If the CID display service is determined to be performed after the message is received through the channel through which the service has been requested, the corresponding inherent identification information of the portable terminal in an SMS for transmission, and a subscriber identification information of the corresponding portable terminal is confirmed through the received SMS. The inherent identification information included in the SMS is extracted and the extracted inherent identification information to the subscriber identification information is matched. The matched identification information stored and a caller ID service is registered for a subsequent identification purpose.
