    Abstract: Disclosed is a system for customizing a gift card. The system includes a indicia carrier having a machine readable medium for an encoded account number supported on one side of the indicia carrier and being devoid of embossed account indicia on an opposite side. The system also includes a self-adhesive label adapted for application onto at least part of a surface of the indicia carrier. The system further includes means for customizing the label with a customized display. The system also includes a printer to print the customized display on the label. Additionally, the system includes a label applicator that facilitates alignment of the label with the indicia carrier for joining the label and the indicia carrier.

    Abstract: The building block interlocks with other like blocks by means of mating tongues and grooves or mating projections and recesses to form a temporary structure such as a garage or a factory. The block is hollow and less an opening through which particulate material may be selectively introduced and extracted from the hollow interior. The block may be composed of light-weight material such as polypropylene or other polymeric material so that the block can be carried and lifted easily by hand when it is empty.

    Abstract: Acrylate ester monomers are produced in high yield and without polymerization by reacting an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated organic acid halide and a hydroxyl containing organic compound in the presence of molecular sieves. In the absence of molecular sieves the same reactants produce the monomer ester products in low yield and/or form polymers.
