  • Patent number: 11089287
Abstract: A three-dimensional imaging system for generating a 3D panoramic video/image is disclosed. The three-dimensional imaging system includes a plurality of stereoscopic pairs of compound cameras which are separated by a predefined distance d. The imaging system is configured to operate in a first mode to generate panoramic images simultaneously using the compound cameras. Spatial distortion and temporal distortion are calculated for each column in a region of overlap of the field of view of the panoramic images generated. The column for which the spatial and temporal distortion is minimum is marked as a seam location. The marked seam location is changed based on location of a motion in the column for which the calculated spatial and temporal distortion is minimum.

  • Patent number: 9788027
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved approach for implementing a distributed media system, where ad hoc network connections may be created and optimized on a localized level. This efficiently allows for capture and distribution of media data, as well as the optimized allocation of bandwidth on the network in a distributed manner.

  • Publication number: 20150312528
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved approach for capturing multimedia information in a coherent manner to inherently permit aggregation or synchronization with other coherently captured multimedia information. Also disclosed are techniques for using a rich semantic model for relating and aggregating the captured data.

  • Patent number: 9128897
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved approach for implementing participatory interaction at events using mobile devices. One approach is to utilize distributed display screens for the mobile devices in an audience to display a much larger collective image. Another approach is to utilize the distributed cameras of mobile devices in an audience to form a massive capture device from the different locations and perspectives of the audience members. Yet another approach is directed to the use of mobile devices in the audience to capture motion events among the audience, which are then used to synthesize new media items and types for the event.

  • Patent number: 8325188
Abstract: Systems and methods for storing waveform data and outputting data to a waveform viewer are disclosed. A waveform is segmented into a plurality of segments, and data describing each segment is stored at several levels of resolution. When a user wishes to view a portion of the waveform, the appropriate segments of the waveform are identified, and the appropriate levels of resolution are selected. The data describing the appropriate segments at the appropriate levels of resolution are output to a waveform viewer. An index may be provided to aid in selection of the appropriate data. Various methods for compression of the data are also supported.

  • Publication number: 20090164184
Abstract: The present approach models a process as a series of steps corresponding to sets of inputs and outputs, where the inputs relates to various configurations of elements for a given step of the process. For each step in the process, one or more models are constructed that correspond to the possible parameters and samples associated with specific stages of the process. Sampling is performed to generate raw data for the models. Experimentation is performed on a significant scale to identify a set of configurations setting that should be retained for a subsequent step of the process. The selection of configuration setting for each stage of the process is not intended to prune parametric options from the process. Instead, reductions are performed which both preserve uniform and reasonably maximal coverage of data over the intended design space, while at the same time selecting configurations that achieve the desired results.

  • Patent number: 5768479
Abstract: A method for generating a physical integrated circuit layout, using the similarity between a template and the physical layout as a metric. This automated template-driven layout methodology creates a physical integrated circuit layout which approximates the specified template as closely as practicably possible. The similarity of the positioning of circuit elements in a physical layout is improved with regard to the positioning of those same circuit elements in a template. The circuit elements' placement is incrementally improved by attaching a cost to each placement, with a lower cost reflecting a better match between circuit element placement in the physical layout and the template. Fuzzy logic concepts are employed to determine the cost of a given layout.
