Abstract: Methods and systems for providing an enterprise class virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) are provided. Aspects of the VDI include providing support for multiple simultaneous virtual private networks (VPNs), video calls, and for operatively connecting to a selected connected device within a personal workspace through a single sign on procedure. A teletype (TTY) function can also be provided using normal or VPN connections. The VDI can comprise or be incorporated into a thin client device, a telephone, a headset, a keyboard, a mouse, or a monitor.

Embodiments relate to generation of one or more action items in response to detection of an audio trigger, such as a spoken command, keyword, audio tone or other indicator, which is detected during a conversation, such as an audio or video conference or peer-to-peer conversation. The audio trigger and a portion of the conversation are then used to generate an action item relating to the audio trigger and an accompanying portion of the conversation. By automatically generating action items in real time as part of a conversation, action items can be captured and stored more efficiently, and the participants in the conversation are allowed greater confidence that all items requiring follow up actions are properly stored and organized.

Abstract: A virtual communication channel is established between a virtual server and a virtual controller. The virtual communication channel can support one or more media communications, such as audio, voice, and text communications. The virtual controller determines that the virtual communication channel cannot be sustained. In response to determining that the virtual communication channel cannot be sustained, a media controller provides an alternative communication channel. The alternative communication channel is used to provide the one or more media communications.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system organizes communications by combining and integrating distinct communication events conducted through diverse communication modes into to a single conversation. Notification of an occurrence of an event is received and, in response to the notification, a conversation object representing a conversation is generated. A plurality of participants is associated with the conversation. A communication entry is associated with the conversation object. The communication entry has a message for at least one of the participants. The conversation object and the communication entry are stored in persistent memory. Shared access to the conversation object stored in persistent memory is limited to the plurality of participants associated with the conversation.
