  • Patent number: 10702699
Abstract: A system for cardiac pacing includes circuitry and at least two electrodes, configured to be placed in contact with a chest of a subject. The circuitry is configured to receive electro-cardiogram (ECG) signals from the at least two electrodes, to identify brachycardia or asystole or ventricular tachycardia in the subject based on the received ECG signals, upon identifying brachycardia or asystole or ventricular tachycardia, to shape a mains electrical source signal into a waveform applicable to a transformer for generating a pacing signal, to generate the pacing signal by applying the waveform to the transformer, and to apply the pacing signal through the at least two electrodes to the chest of the subject.

  • Patent number: 7340301
Abstract: The invention provides a portable defibrillation system (2), including: a high voltage switch, and current control circuit (16) connectable to and fed by a power source (6); a high voltage transformer (14) fed by the current control circuit; a pair of electrode pads (12, 12?) connected to the high voltage transformer, and a computer-based controller (18), operationally connected to the current control circuit, for governing the application of current to the high voltage transformer and, in turn, to the electrodes, wherein the high voltage applied to a patient by means of the electrode pads is directly derived from the power source.

  • Publication number: 20050256441
Abstract: A device and method is provided for protecting the renal system from contrast dyes injected into the circulatory system during procedures such as angiograms and angioplasty. The device includes a catheter having a draining portion and an occluding portion. The device is inserted into the coronary sinus at a predetermined time, the occluding portion is inflated, and the contrast-injected blood is diverted. This blood may be reintroduced into the coronary arteries several times.

  • Patent number: 5891089
Abstract: There is provided a fluid pressure sensing and activating control system for coronary angioplasty, including a fluid pressure sensor and transducer connected to feed signals via an A/D converter to a processor and control unit, a pulse width generator receiving signals from the processor for activating a balloon inflator, and a fluid conduit connector attached to the output of the inflator and to the input of the fluid pressure sensor and transducer, and having a further output port connectable to an inflatable balloon. A method for dilating a section of an elastic conduit by means of an inflatable balloon inserted therein is also provided.
