  • Publication number: 20110225284
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer program product are provided for determining a network interface to network resource. An apparatus may comprise a processor configured to receive a request for resolution of a domain name. The processor may be further configured to access maintained domain name suffix information. The maintained domain name suffix information may comprise a plurality of domain name suffix entries. The processor may additionally be configured to search the maintained domain name suffix information for one or more domain name suffix entries corresponding to the domain name to determine one or more network interfaces through which the domain name is accessible. The processor may also be configured to select a network interface for resolving the domain name into a network address from the one or more determined network interfaces.

  • Publication number: 20110154432
Abstract: In a non-limiting and exemplary embodiment, a method is provided for adapting security level between a mobile node and a mobility anchor. An IP mobility binding with an indication of a security mode is established for a mobile node connected to an IP sub-network and identified in the IP sub-network by a care of address. A trigger to adapt the security mode for the mobile node connected to the IP sub-network is detected. The security mode for the mobile node connected to the IP sub-network and identified by the care of address is adapted in response to the trigger.

  • Patent number: 7940697
Abstract: A method comprising: receiving, in a network element of a packet data core network, a network resource request from a user equipment, said request including indication on the user equipment's Internet Protocol (IP) version capability; creating, in said network element, a set of parameters for guiding the user equipment in IP address allocation at least in one packet data network, said set of parameters including at least a recommended version of IP address type to be used; and signalling said set of parameters to the user equipment as a response to the network resource request.

  • Publication number: 20110087789
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided according to one example embodiment to allow a user device to access services over an overlay network. The method and apparatus of one example embodiment further allows a user device, such as a mobile terminal, to move freely across network access points without interruption in the services. An example method may include receiving a request for service, allocating an address to the request, configuring rules associated with the request, generating at least one routing table entry from the rules, and providing for transmission of the routing table entry and the address. An address prefix may be associated with the service, in which case the address includes the address prefix. Further, the address prefix may be associated with a unique overlay network. Prior to transmitting the routing table entry, the request for service may require approval. The address may be a static or dynamic address.

  • Publication number: 20100257276
Abstract: By providing a virtual network interface (1140) to a platform or an operating system wide implementation of the STUN protocol and its TURN extension, the invention allows applications (1110, 1120, 1130) located in a private network behind a NAT to communicate with their respective peers (1321, 1322, 1323) using sockets as usual while still getting the full benefit of the STUN protocol and its TURN extension for NAT traversal purposes.

  • Publication number: 20100005158
Abstract: In a non-limiting and exemplary embodiment, a method is provided for network address assignment. A network address request is received with an indication of a specific network address space. A network address belonging to the specific network address space may be assigned in response to detecting the indication in the received request. A response to the network address request is transmitted, the response indicating the assigned network address.
