    Abstract: A method for recovering carbon dioxide from gas, which method includes the steps of: pressurizing gas, feeding pressurized gas and water used as a solvent to an absorption column to 3 to 10 bar absolute pressure, feeding water received from the absorption column and carbon dioxide absorbed therein to a desorption column for recovering carbon dioxide from the water, recirculating water exiting the desorption column to the absorption column, recovering carbon dioxide exiting the desorption column, feeding at least part of the gas to an auxiliary desorption column prior to pressurizing the gas, and sending water exiting the desorption column back to the auxiliary desorption column. The method also applies to a corresponding system.
