  • Patent number: 4394402
Abstract: A process for treating an acetylene polymer or a doped acetylene polymer, which comprises plasma-polymerizing a gasifiable organic compound under plasma-excitation under reduced pressure, thereby forming a polymer film on the solid surface of an acetylene polymer or a doped acetylene polymer placed in said polymerization reaction system. This process can prevent the acetylene polymer or doped acetylene polymer from being deteriorated owing to oxidation.

  • Patent number: 4386181
Abstract: A heat-aging-resistant rubbery polymer composition comprising a rubbery polymer, at least one compound selected from the group consisting of diphenylamine derivatives and phenol derivatives as an age resister for said rubbery polymer, and polyalkylene ether glycol having an average molecular weight of 100-5,000, and optionally a compound represented by the formula, ##STR1## in which R is alkyl having 10 to 20 carbon atoms. Preferably, said at least one compound selected from the group consisting of diphenylamine derivatives and phenol derivatives is chemically linked to said rubbery polymer as a part of the molecular chain. Said rubbery polymer composition is unexpectedly superior in heat-aging-resistance to a composition consisting only of said rubbery polymer and said age resister or a composition consisting only of said rubbery polymer and said polyalkylene ether glycol.

  • Patent number: 4334044
Abstract: By reacting a diene polymer having nitrile groups with an anti-deteriorating agent having at least one polar group selected from the group consisting of amino group and imino group in the presence of a catalyst, a diene rubber can be obtained in which said anti-deteriorating agent is chemically combined to the nitrile groups. Said rubber per se has resistance to deterioration and, at the same time, acts as an anti-deteriorating agent for other diene rubbers. The chemically combined anti-deteriorating agent is not extractable with solvent, so that said rubber has a stable resistance to deterioration and a stable anti-deteriorating action on other diene rubbers.

  • Patent number: 4313865
Abstract: An instant-setting adhesive composition comprising a 2-cyanoacrylate and at least one 1,1-disubstituted diene, the amount of said 1,1-disubstituted diene exceeding 50% by weight based on the total weight of both components. This composition is useful in the same fields as those where conventional 2-cyanoacrylate adhesives have been used, and is excellent in impact resistance, peel resistance, heat resistance and water resistance.

  • Patent number: 4302361
Abstract: A pressure sensitive conductor consists essentially of (I) an electrically insulating rubber (excluding addition reaction type liquid silicone rubber), (II) 25 to 50% by volume of electrically conductive metal particles (preferably 40 to 200.mu. in particle size) and (III) 5 to 20% by volume of carbon black, and having a JIS A hardness of at least 40. Said conductor may optionally contain (IV) 0.1 to 5% by volume of a mono-, di- or trialkyl titanate. This pressure sensitive conductor has high mechanical strength, a rapid electrical response to deformations, a low hysteresis of the electrical resistance variation on application and release of pressure, and minimized change of the pressure-resistivity curve under repeated deformations.

  • Patent number: 4292261
Abstract: A pressure sensitive conductor comprising an elastomer containing from 3 to 40% by volume of electrically conductive magnetic particles, which particles are dispersed in the elastomer so that high-sensitivity pressure sensitive conductor portions and insulator portions or low-sensitivity pressure sensitive conductor portions are both present therein. A method of manufacturing the pressure sensitive conductor comprises forming a sheet of a mixture containing electrically conductive magnetic particles in an elastomer, and subjecting the sheet to the action of magnetic fields before or during cross linking, thereby allowing the conductive magnetic particles to be uniformly dispersed in the sheet in a selected pattern.
