Abstract: The embodiments of the present invention disclose a method for displaying texts in an instant messaging system. The method includes: obtaining the preconfigured text display format information while logging in the instant messaging system; displaying the received message sent from the instant message sender terminal using the preconfigured text display format. The embodiments of the present invention also disclose an electronic terminal, a server, or a communication system. The embodiments of the present invention can be implemented to achieve the automatic display of the received instant message according to the user's desired format, solving the problem of the current technologies that the text message display cannot meet user's individual needs, avoiding resetting the text display format for each chat, enhancing the performance of real-time instant messaging system, helping the user to use instant messaging systems more conveniently and improving the user experiences.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for using a super taskbar to control instant messaging (IM) application, comprising: creating a virtual window corresponding to a main panel of the IM application; monitoring a window message in a window process of the virtual window; and executing a super taskbar operation according to the detected window message while monitoring the window message. The present invention is capable of creating a virtual window corresponding to a main panel of IM application, monitoring a window message in a window process of the virtual window, and executing a super taskbar operation according to the detected window message while monitoring the window message, so that the IM software supports the super taskbar, that is, the running state of the IM software is controlled by using the super taskbar, thus greatly improving a user's experience in using the IM application.

Abstract: Examples of the present invention provide a method and device for image compression coding. The method includes: obtaining a designated area selected from an image at a decoding side; determining quantization coefficients of the image to make an image compression ratio of the designated area lower than image compression ratios of areas in the image other than the designated area; and performing a compression coding on the image using the determined quantization coefficients of the image. By using the present invention, a video communication system may support a user to select an interested area in a video image, and clearly transmit the interested area selected by the user.

Abstract: A method and system for providing a message including a URL. The method includes: detecting whether a first URL is included in message content within a message input by a user; if the first URL is included in the message content, calculating the length of the message by taking a first length value as the length of the first URL; if the calculated message length is less than the predetermined message length, allowing the user to keep on adding message content to the message; replacing the first URL included in the message by a second URL, and saving corresponding relationship between the first URL and the second URL. The length of the second URL is less than or equal to the first length value; providing the message including the second URL.
