  • Publication number: 20170088323
Abstract: A package for storing perishable goods. Film forming the package has an inner layer that defines an interior surface of the package and is formed from a polyethylene and a tack agent that has migrated to the interior surface to provide tackiness. The tackiness permits cold resealing of the package after it has been opened, without substantially adhering to the perishable goods so that the perishable goods can be non-destructively removed from the package. An outer layer of the film defines an exterior surface of the package and is formed from another polyethylene. The polyethylene of the outer layer is configured to block migration of the tack agent through the outer layer such that the exterior surface is substantially non-tacky.

  • Publication number: 20170050768
Abstract: An envelope has an envelope body formed by opposing panels that define an interior and an opening. A closure is joined to and extends up from the top margin of one panel. The envelope is configured such that the interior surface of the closure is sealable to the other panel to permanently close the envelope opening. The closure includes a closure panel and a tear band coextruded with the closure panel. The tear band is composed of a polymeric material having lower tear strength than the material of the closure panel. The tear band defines a zone of weakness extending along the width of the closure for opening the closure by tearing along the zone of weakness after it is permanently closed.

  • Publication number: 20160016694
Abstract: A temporary adhesive band provides a releasable sealing structure and a tearing structure in a plastic bag. The band can be coextruded with one or more panels of the bag and can be made from a polymer blend. It can have a relatively thick tear section that defines a tear line at a zone of weakness in the bag so that a closed end of the bag can be easily removed. The band also can have a releasable sealing section that remains attached to the bag after the closed end of the bag has been removed by tearing the bag along the tear line so that the bag can be resealed once it has been opened. The releasable sealing section of the temporary adhesive band is preferably made from a coextruded material with tacky properties so that no additional adhesive is required for resealing the bag.

  • Publication number: 20150266622
Abstract: A plastic bag comprising two panels and a flap joined to one of the panels and configured for folding over the other of the panels for closure of the bag, wherein at least a portion of the flap has a tackiness which is greater than the tackiness of its associated panel. A stack of bags having a flap with greater tackiness than the tackiness of the major panels of the bags.

  • Patent number: 9131737
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to disposable gloves, ethylene-based thermoplastic materials for use in preparing disposable gloves, and methods for preparing ethylene-based thermoplastic materials for use in preparing disposable gloves. Generally, the present invention relates to non-medical and non-surgical disposable gloves suitable for use in food-service and industrial applications. In particular, the present invention is directed to disposable including a coloring agent incorporated into one or more of the ethylene-based polymer layers to indicate, for example, the size of the glove, the right- or left-handedness of the glove, and/or the presence of one or more additives (e.g., an antibacterial agent).

  • Publication number: 20130089280
Abstract: A sealable plastic bag has a first panel and a second panel. The first panel and second panel are joined along three edges to define a bag interior and an opening to permit access to the bag interior. A permanent sealing structure is configured to permanently seal the first and second panels to close the opening and prevent access to the bag interior. A release liner strip overlies the permanent sealing structure to prevent the permanent sealing structure from sealing the first and second panels until activation by a user. A resealable sealing structure is configured to repeatedly and nondestructively seal the first and second panels to close the opening and prevent access to the bag interior.

Abstract: A sealable plastic bag has a first panel and a second panel. The first and second panels are joined to each other along three edges to define a bag interior and an opening permitting access to the bag interior. A resealable sealing structure extends continuously between the first and second side edges of at least one of the panels and is configured to repeatedly and nondestructively seal and unseal the first and second panels to close and open the bag interior. A secondary sealing structure extends continuously between the first and second side edges of both of the panels below the resealable sealing structure but spaced toward the top edges of the panels. The secondary sealing structure is also configured to repeatedly and nondestructively seal and unseal the first and second panels together to close and open the bag interior.
