Abstract: A load-bearing plank-like member is adapted to be supported by its ends on support members having peg members engageable with complementary apertures in the plank member. The plank member is of hollow cross-section and incorporates at least one internal longitudinal web disposed parallel to the upper, load bearing surface of the plank member, the web being spaced from the underside of the plank member by a distance less than the length of said peg members. Vertically aligned complementary apertures are formed in the underside of the plank member and in the web, whereby when the plank member is engaged with the support member each of the pegs engages with apertures both in the underside of the member and in the web.

Abstract: A set of components for the construction of a shelf assembly comprises at least four uprights of a length approximating to a predetermined shelf spacing, at least one shelf member, and a plurality of locating members engageable with the uprights and provided with locating means engageable with the or each shelf member to form a shelf assembly supported on the uprights. The locating means may define sockets adapted to at least partially surround end portions of the associated uprights, each socket being adapted to receive an upper end of one upright and a lower end of another upright whereby to interconnect the uprights in vertical alignment with one another.

Abstract: A lightweight decking plank has male and female connecting members formed at its opposite longitudinal edges, at least one component of each connecting member comprising a hollow section, and the connecting members being arranged such that when the male connector of one plank is engaged with the female connector of an adjacent plank, at least parts of the hollow sections of the respective connectors are positioned in vertical alignment with one another and form an essentially rigid load-supporting connection between the upper and lower surfaces of the assembly at the region of inter-connection.

Abstract: A sash window construction comprises an outer frame, at least one sash frame supported for sliding movement relative to the outer frame by locating members on the sash frame engageable with carrier members located in channels formed in the outer frame, components of the carrier members being movable between operative positions in which the carrier members are slidable in the channels and the sash frame is secured against release from the main frame, and release positions in which the carrier members are locked against sliding movement and the sash frame may be disengaged from the outer frame. Preferably the sash frame is arranged to be tiltable relative to the main frame, being retained against engagement in its normal position of use and removable from the main frame in its tilted position.
