Abstract: A hair colorant applicator includes a deformable container (2) of colorant having a cap (4) to which a sponge (6) is affixed. The sponge communicates with the interior of the container via an aperture (22). The colorant is provided in a two-part form wherein one part is contained in a subcontainer (8) suspended within container (2) which contains the other part of the colorant mixture. A forcing member (15) is provided for conveying rupturing force from the cap to break subcontainer (8) into an upper portion (12) and a lower portion (10) thereby mixing the two parts of the two-part colorant. The sponge may be wetted to a desired degree by squeezing deformable container (2). The applicator provides a means for precise and convenient retouching of hair roots and hairline.
