  • Patent number: 10624416
Abstract: An insole board for a high-heel shoe, said insole board includes a heel supporting area having a concave heel cup adapted to underlie a heel of the wearer, a medial arch support area adapted to underlie the arch of the wearer's foot and extending toeward of but short of the ball of the wearer's foot, and a forefoot area adapted to underlie the ball of the foot and forefoot of the wearer. The medial arch support area has a raised contour for supporting a portion of a sole of the wearer's foot underlying the wearer's arch, and the forefoot support area includes a hollow having a resiliently deformable material therein.

  • Patent number: 10244813
Abstract: Sandals with biomechanical foot support, robust usability and cost-effectiveness are disclosed. The footwear may comprise a biomechanical sole and a Y-shaped rubber strap anchored to the sole. The sole has a top surface including a raised contour on the medial side of the sandal, and a low profile heel cup. The raised contour on the medial side and the heel cup match the natural anatomic shape of the foot, and thus provides a biomechanical foot support. The bottom surface of the sole may be a roughed surface to provide necessary traction and friction when a wearer/user walks. The bottom surface further comprises a plurality of grooves to allow water to be expelled and increase traction.

  • Publication number: 20180020772
Abstract: A composite orthotic device for use with footwear includes a resiliently deformable base part and a resiliently deformable upper part, forming a plurality of foot supporting portions of differing durometer adapted to guide the wearer's foot along a Center of Pressure path from heel strike to toe-off to follow a biomechanically corrected gait path.

  • Publication number: 20170318899
Abstract: Footwear with enhanced wearing comfortability, stability and orthotic foot support are disclosed. The footwear comprises built-in intrinsic midsole, anatomically shaped footbed having a functional arch concavity on a medial side, and deep heel cup. The built-in intrinsic midsole provides ideal foot support and function. Raised sidewalls accentuate a deep heel cup, which controls and matches the natural anatomic shape of the foot. The midsole is made by direct single density injection with integrated orthotic contour. The direct injection midsole to upper creates a strong bond, and resolves a potential of delaminating soles. Furthermore, it eliminates the need and cost of cementing, and improves instant fit/comfort.

  • Publication number: 20070284285
Abstract: A pretreatment process is described for heavy hydrocarbon oil feedstock, such as oils extracted from tar sands. The feedstock is passed through a heated, continuous flow electron or x-ray treatment zone. The process is designed to allow the feedstock to be conditioned with ozone-containing air, steam or a hydrogen donor gas prior to electron/x-ray treatment. The ozone-containing air stream may be the stream produced in the electron treatment zone. After conditioning, the heavy oil is heated to a specified temperature and uniformly treated with high-energy beams of electrons or x-rays. A key feature of the invention is the electron/x-ray treatment zone may use multiple accelerators or a beam splitter to ensure acceptable dose distributions in the flowing feedstock. Another key feature is the recirculation of volatiles back into the feedstock.
