  • Publication number: 20190351029
Abstract: Methods of treating ischemia by modulating ischemic cell bioenergetics are described. For example, the methods include the administration of small molecule, polypeptide, and/or genetic agents that modulate oxidative metabolism and/or glycolytic metabolism in ischemic cells, such as ischemic muscle cells. In some embodiments, the agent is adapted to deliver Cox6a2 or PFKFB3 to the cell. Also described are related pharmaceutical compositions and kits for the treatment of ischemia and ischemic injury related to, for instance, such as peripheral arterial disease, stroke, myocardial infarction, and diabetes.

  • Publication number: 20080076907
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for enriching cell surface proteins by oxidizing glycosylated protein with periodate. The present invention further provides that the cell surface proteins are obtained from intact cells either from cell lines or from tissues. The present invention provides a method not only capable of obtaining increased quantities of the cell surface proteins, but also capable of obtaining a wide ranges of proteins that are not detectable by other means.

  • Publication number: 20060184463
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for evaluating a plurality of courses of action according to a plurality of decision factors. A system memory contains a decision model comprising a plurality of global influence values and the plurality of courses of action. Each course of action has an associated set of decision parameters corresponding to the plurality of decision factors. An input device is operative to receive input from a user to adjust the values of the global influence values. A computational engine calculates a fitness parameter for each course of action based on the set of decision parameters for the course of action and the global influence values. The computational engine is operative to update the decision model in real time to reflect input from the user interface. A display displays the decision model to the user.

  • Patent number: 4757816
Abstract: A telemetry system for transmitting digital data from an implanted pacer to an external programming/receiver unit includes a voltage-controlled pulse generator having an output period proportional to its input voltage magnitude. The external receiver unit includes a pulse period detector to generate a reconstructed analog signal whose amplitude is proportional to each pulse-to-pulse time interval from the pulse generator. The pulse generator requires only minimum width pulses and thus there is minimum system drain because the signal information is contained only in the pulse-to-pulse interval and not in the pulsewidth.
