  • Patent number: 4321354
Abstract: Novel polyamine cycloaliphatic compounds are provided in which the polyamine substituted cycloaliphatic compounds contain at least two alkyl substituted amino moieties represented structurally as ##STR1## wherein n is an integer of from 0 to about 3, R and R.sub.1 are ##STR2## and R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are H or alkyl moieties containing from 1 to about 10 carbon atoms. The polyamine substituted cycloaliphatic compounds are further characterized in that at least one R or R.sub.1 is ##STR3## such compounds are especially useful as epoxy curing agents.

  • Patent number: 4260556
Abstract: A process is provided for preparing non-aromatic, nitrogen-containing compounds represented structurally as: ##STR1## wherein R is CN or CH.sub.2 NH.sub.2, and R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are hydrogen or C.sub.2 H.sub.5 --CH--CH.sub.2 R wherein R is as previously defined, which comprises reacting an effective amount of a nucleophilic agent with 2-pentenenitrile under conditions whereby said 2-pentenenitrile undergoes an addition reaction with said nucleophilic agent to form said nitrogen-containing compounds. Also provided is a novel process for curing polyepoxides using di- and polyamine epoxy curing agents.
