  • Publication number: 20240149300
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a surface repair and livery printing system and method. The method includes receiving an aircraft part having an altered surface image and selecting a repair process from one of a paint repair process, a decal repair process, or an inkjet repair process, based on characteristics of the altered surface image. The method also includes applying paint to the surface over the altered surface image. In response to selecting the decal repair process, the method includes printing a first image on a decal based on the characteristics of the altered surface image and a second image associated with the altered surface image and a step of applying the decal to the surface at least partially over the altered surface image. In response to selecting the inkjet repair process, the method includes performing the inkjet repair process to at least a portion of the surface based on the characteristics of the altered surface image.

  • Patent number: 11788573
Abstract: A protection cap assembly for enclosing an end portion of a fastener which extends through a structure of an aircraft includes a cap member having a sidewall defining an opening and an interior space wherein the opening is aligned with the interior space for receiving the end portion of the fastener through the opening and into the interior space and an end surface for abutting the structure. The protection cap assembly further includes a projection secured to and which extends from the end surface of the sidewall of the cap member.

  • Patent number: 10771658
Abstract: A method includes receiving information specifying a color gamut. The color gamut corresponds to a range of colors producible by an output device. The method further includes receiving a first indication of a first color associated with a first point in a geometrical representation of the color gamut in a three-dimensional (3D) color space. The method further includes generating, based on the first color, a second indication of a second color that is included in the color gamut. The second color is associated with a second point in the 3D color space. The second point is identified based on a particular value of data associated with a plurality of distances between the first point and a subset of points of the geometrical representation. The subset of points includes more than one and fewer than all points of the geometrical representation.
