  • Publication number: 20190128258
Abstract: A multiple lobe vane fluid pump having enhanced under-vane cavity pressurization for cold start priming includes a pressure plate having a first flow passage and a second flow passage, the first flow passage being configured to allow fluid flow between a primary under-vane cavity and a primary discharge port, the second flow passage being configured to allow fluid flow between the primary discharge port and a secondary under-vane cavity. Additionally, the pump includes a thrust plate including the primary under-vane cavity, a first adjacent under-vane cavity having one open end in fluid communication with a first end on the primary under-vane cavity, and a second adjacent under-vane cavity having one open end in fluid communication with a second end of the primary under-vane cavity.

  • Patent number: 9599108
Abstract: A vane pump includes a first cam ring and a second cam ring, a first rotor positioned in the first cam ring and a second rotor positioned in the second cam ring, and a shaft. The first rotor is engaged with the shaft so that the first rotor rotates relative to the first cam ring about an axis extending through the shaft, and the second rotor selectively engages with the shaft so that the second rotor selectively rotates relative to the second cam ring about the axis. A piston positioned in the shaft translates within the shaft between a first position and a second position. When in the first position, the shaft engages with the second rotor so that the second rotor rotates relative to the second cam ring about the axis, and when in the second position, the shaft disengages with the second rotor so that the second rotor does not rotate relative to the second cam ring.

  • Publication number: 20090283157
Abstract: A check valve assembly is provided for regulating the flow of pressurized fluid in a hydraulic circuit. The check valve assembly includes a valve housing defining a valve chamber with first and second spaced openings. A poppet is slidably arranged inside the valve chamber to transition between a seated position, in which the poppet fluidly seals one of the openings, and an unseated position, in which the poppet fluidly unseals the opening. A plurality of fins protrudes outward from one end of the poppet to engage with the inner surface of the valve chamber. A disk, which is oriented inside the valve chamber, defines a receiving slot that is configured to receive and mate with a second end of the poppet. The disk and fins cooperate to maintain the poppet in coaxial alignment with the longitudinal center axis of the valve chamber during transitions between the seated and unseated positions.

  • Patent number: 6116861
Abstract: A pump and filter assembly including a filter housing secured in a pump housing. The filter housing has a filter outlet portion with a central filter outlet passage. A plurality of nozzle passages are disposed adjacent and radially outward of the filter outlet passage. The nozzles communicate with an annular recess formed in the filter outlet portion. The annular recess receives return bypassed hydraulic fluid from a regulator valve for distribution through the nozzles into an inlet stream of fluid flowing through the filter outlet passage. The inlet stream velocity is increased which increases the pressure at the pump inlet. The increased pressure at the pump inlet allows the pump to operate at higher speeds without cavitation.
