Abstract: An apparatus for opening a trash receptacle door by use of a handle. The handle is connected to the trash receptacle door by a single shaft or a series of shafts and gears connected together which transfer rotary motion. A pulling or pushing force applied to the upper extend or lower extent of the handle respectively will provide a rotational movement which in turn will rotate the connected trash receptacle door to an open position and allow access to the interior of the trash receptacle.
