The method, schema, and computer-readable medium operate to load balance computing devices in a multi-server environment including determining whether a file, such as a spreadsheet application workbook, resides in the cache of a particular server, such as a calculation server. Upon meeting certain conditions, the user request may be directed to the particular server.
