  • Patent number: 11447219
Abstract: A weaponized UUV has a sliding barrel and accessible breech. The barrel slides in response to the firing of a projectile, and moves a first distance un-arrested, providing time for the projectile to clear the barrel. After the projectile clears the barrel, a recoil mechanism engages the barrel, transferring the recoil load to the hull of the UUV.

  • Patent number: 8392288
Abstract: Identifying electronic receipt data with a plug-in to a software application. Consumer purchases from merchants may be confirmed with an electronic receipt or message, which may be displayed by or transmitted to a consumer computer on which a software application such as a web browser and/or e-mail client application executes. A plug-in to the software application receives data of the software application that displays or stores transaction confirmation data generated by a merchant. The plug-in analyzes the software application data to identify potential electronic receipt data and notifies the consumer of the identified electronic receipt data. The plug-in provides for a choice whether identified electronic receipt data should be transmitted to a host computer that collects, stores and organizes electronic receipt data using a receipt program and receipt database.

  • Publication number: 20120171932
Abstract: A method and apparatus for removing residue from an edge of an item are disclosed. The method and apparatus are well-suited to assist in reconditioning used shelving units or deck units for store displays. In various embodiments, ticket holders are removed from the ticket edges of the units. Each unit is then placed on a conveyor and aligned with a guide edge. Optionally, magnets may hold each unit in place on the conveyor. The conveyor moves the units along at least one residue removing machine, and ideally, two residue removing or buffing machines in succession. The residue removing machines ideally include a rotating buffing wheel which strips residue such as glue from the ticket edge of the units. A vacuum can be used to collect debris produced from this process. Sensors may be positioned to sense the front edge of each unit and slide each residue removing machine into operating position at the right time once the front edge of each unit is in residue removing position.

  • Publication number: 20080120043
Abstract: The present invention provides apparatus and a methods for collecting, transmitting and storing fugitive gas emission data. An embodiment of the invention collects fugitive gas with a sampling probe and into a emission monitoring device. The device then sends and stores fugitive gas data into a storage medium, such as a wireless data-logging adapter. The wireless-data logging adapter stores the data and wirelessly sends it to a personal digital assistant or other form of redundant memory such as a data logger. In one embodiment, the PDA can initiate commands to retrieve data from the storage medium or operate the emission gas monitoring device.

  • Patent number: 7310910
Abstract: A device and method for helping a floral designer create a floral arrangement that is well balanced in its distribution of flowers and greens. The device includes a three-dimensional foam structure that has a plurality of different levels. Each of the different levels is of a different size, thereby creating an overall tapered foam structure. Areas of equal size are demarcated on each of the different levels. The areas of equal size are evenly distributed around a plurality of different levels. The demarcation of the various equal sized areas are created either by using an external grid work that lay over the foam structure or shaping the foam into protrusions on each level. Using the equal sized areas as a distribution grid, a floral designer can quickly and easily place flowers and greens throughout the three-dimensional foam structure in a manner that is evenly distributed and well balanced.

  • Publication number: 20050072302
Abstract: An engine is equipped with a filter assembly with a structure that prevents assembly without a filter element in place. In addition, one can choose between a cleanable metallic screen filter element or a replaceable conventional pleated paper filter element. Depending upon the circumstances, the engine user can switch between the two different filter types throughout the working life of the engine.

  • Patent number: 6111179
Abstract: A musical instrument, comprising a neck and a body. A chord selector is present on the neck, and a note selector is present on the body. The chord selector comprises a plurality of locations, each having a tonic and a quality. The note selector is a touch sensitive strip that is linearly arranged like a piano keyboard. A note is sounded only if it is simultaneously pressed on the note selector, and is present in one of the chords selected on the chord selector. Thus, once a chord is selected, it may be picked, strummed, or arpeggiated by employing different hand motions upon the note selector.

  • Patent number: 4296484
Abstract: A display system is provided in which the data from a plurality of data channels is displayed on a cathode ray tube (CRT) display device. Automatic gain control is utilized to ensure that essentially the entire screen of the CRT display device is filled even if the number of data channels available to supply data to be displayed varies. Digital gain ranging circuitry is provided to ensure that the automatic gain control circuit is not overloaded by a large variation in the number of data channels available to supply data to be displayed. Circuitry is also provided to enable the highlighting of data from a particular data channel on the CRT display device to thereby provide easier viewing of the data, from that particular data channel, for an operator.
