Abstract: A divided light door which includes an integrated core panel and a lattice frame mounted in a frame-receiving opening provided in the core panel. The lattice frame includes inner frame pieces extending across each other and interlocked with each other. Veneer pieces covering the core panel and edge band strips form the faces of the door.

Abstract: A raised panel door wherein a support panel in the door has panel-simulating zones distributed over opposite faces. The support panel is made of a compacted, mineral-based, fire-retardant material, and special molding strips secure panel inserts in the panel-simulating zones to face overlays in the support panel.

Abstract: A door including an integrated panel core having an opening in the core for receiving a light-transmitting panel. Edge band stripes extend in covering relation over edges of the panel core. Core faces and margins of edge band strips are overlaid with veneer. Molding strips mounted at least partially in the opening support opposite side margins of the light-transmitting panel.

Abstract: A method of making a panel-style door which includes forming elongate channels in a core panel, with each channel extending in a rectangular course and encompassing a rectangular region. A veneer overlay is applied to cover these rectangular regions and the surfaces bottoming the channels which encompass the rectangular regions. Inlay strips are placed in the channels to cover margins of the veneer overlay so applied. Another veneer overlay is applied to cover remaining portions of the core panel and margins of the inlay strips.

Abstract: A raised panel-style door and method of making same are described. The structure includes a solid core having a planar veneer support surface regularly interrupted by channels extending in a rectangular course. The channels are inlaid with picture frames formed of decorative wood strips having marginal edges in the plane of the veneer support surface and being recessed therebetween. When overlaid with veneer, surface regions outside the picture frames are made to look like stiles and rails, while those inside are made to look like panels. The door may also have an internal fire-retardant layer.

Molding strips overlay and conceal regions where the inserts abut against expanses in the lattice structure defining the voids. A veneer overlay covers margins of the molding strips.
