  • Patent number: 5602455
Abstract: A battery charger is connected to a power source via an input cable. The battery charger has charge switching circuitry for delivering a charge to a battery under the control of a controller. The controller has state detection logic for detecting the current state of the battery, and charging logic for charging the battery by selectively enabling and disabling the charge switching circuitry based on the condition of the battery. An output cable is connected to the battery charger. The output cable delivers power from the power source to a second battery charger for charging a second battery for the electronic device. The output cable can be placed in a stowage position or a non-stowage position. The second battery charger may be external or internal to the electronic device. If the second battery charger is internal to the electronic device, two batteries can be charged at the same time the electronic device is being operated.

  • Patent number: 5398366
Abstract: A toothbrush that affords tilting movement to the bristles thereof only in either of two opposite directions about a tilting axis disposed at an acute angle to the longitudinal axis of the handle of the toothbrush. The bristles project from the top surface of a bristle support, the bottom surface of which is secured to the distal end of the toothbrush handle. In one embodiment, an elongated attachment rod secured to the bottom surface of the bristle support is rotatably received in an elongated attachment rod receiving slot formed in the distal end of the handle in alignment with the tilting axis. In an alternate embodiment, first and second attachment knobs projecting from opposite ends of the bristle support are rotatably received in first and second opposed attachment knob receiving sockets formed in the distal end of the handle at positions in alignment with the tilting axis.

  • Patent number: 4679607
Abstract: A mechanical log splitter in which relative motion is imparted between a cleaving blade and a log longitudinal the axis thereof and the log is split by the cleaving blade being forced thereinto. All moving parts of the log splitter disclosed, except for a log-impelling block that forces each log onto the cleaving blade, are enclosed for safety reasons within an elongated support frame which is preferable made of metal pipe. Riding within the support frame, supporting the log-impelling block and releasably secured thereto to facilitate maintenance, is an elongated carriage, which may also be cylindrical. An activating means housed within support frame at one end of the cylinder drives the carriage and log-impelling block to splitting logs against the cleaving blade of the device. The cleaving blade comprises an elongated tapered body portion of either conical or pyramidal shape having the apex thereof directed toward the approaching log and a longitudinal axis parallel to the motion thereof.
